He shaved his head a while ago, but his lawyers probably told him to grow it back so he didn’t look like Walter White. I think he likes the look.

Is that from today? They shaved his head?
Yes - that is one of the first steps of processing with the SCDOC.

My wife has been watching this from the beginning.
She said that he probably loved his wife and son, but loved himself more.

I had it on in the background at work for most of the trial.
For me it came down to..."3 people went to the kennels, only one came back alive within a very short period of time."

It's not like he'll be in the local county jail for life.
In South Carolina his family is known as being part of the police. The man had blue lights installed on his pov . He will meet prisoners that were effected by his family. He also killed his wife and child which is looked down on. What is worse is he has a name and hurting him or shanking him will give you creds on the yard. He better join Aryans asap and get some money put in their commissary. He is about to enter hell compared to his previous way of life.

You're correct but he hasn't been taken custody by SCDC yet. They cut off all your hair the first day at R&E at Kirkland, which is in Columbia.

Prosecution basically ended their closing with this exact statement.

You're telling me that to take the heat off of me from my law firm fraud case I'm just going to go ahead and maliciously and salaciously murder my wife and my son
I would say it was more about the boat case. Mark Tinsley was breathing down his neck for his financial statements, because he was suing AM for at least 10 million, if not more. Maggie thought that it was 30 million. AM told Tinsley he might be able to cobble together 1 million. Tinsley didn’t buy that because of AM”s court load, and his generational wealth.
Tinsley said that with the murders he just knew that his case was dead in the water-no pun intended. Paul, Maggie and AM were now the victims. Who’s going to sue the estate now? Who could be so curel?
As far as the law firm, the way it was set up, is that the attorneys get paid in December. So AM would have had 6 months to scrape together the money to cover up the settlements the firm(the CFO) was asking him about.
I had a hard time buying the State’s case for this motive, but as I watched it laid out, with all of the supporting testimony, it seemed absolutely plausible.
Don’t forget, you’re a normal person-I’m assuming, and would thus be unable to murder.
I’m sure that AM was angry with Paul for causing him so much trouble, and fed up with Maggie’s nagging to settle on the boat case. According to her housekeeper, she wanted to settle it and start over. She had no idea that they were broke.
As the closing prosecutor said, “he loved Maggie and Paul, but he loved himself more.”

Really minor point: she didn't understand how broke they were.
She had been at a luncheon 'for a good cause' and had written a check. Above my pay grade, but I have known people. I'd expect a check for a thousand was written on the spot.
The check bounced, and somebody had to call and tell her. This may have happened twice.
That would be beyond humiliating in her circle. People that rich don't bounce checks. If there were insufficient funds, the bank officer in charge of their accounts would have seen to it that the void was discretely covered.
Then in this trial we heard that Alex had an overdraft of over 100K.
Insert old Saturday Night Live sound of a landshark approaching. The problem was going to have problems going away.

This is a reenactment before the trial was over and AM was convicted for double murder.
AI reenactment
Some have added that one gun was always there and was Paul's loaded and the shooter knew this habit. And or that the shots-or maybe one-- were made from the golf cart.

That place was drowning in guns. He probably had those stashed somewhere.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the one who stole the first blackout out of Paul’s truck at the Halloween party.

Killing an old white dude is not going to get cred. He will be writing habeous writs for the prisoners and that will give him plenty of protection. Everyone always thinks the celebs and affluent are going to get shanked in prison. It doesn't happen. Prisoners that have crimes involving rape or children (whether rape or murder) are the criminals most in danger inside (and mafia guys).

Tinsley sure did not mind keeping Buster in the case. Buster is by far the more sympathetic than Alex would have been.. Mother and brother murdered, and then his father was charged for it. Did Tinsley drop him from the lawsuit after all of that? Of course not, he kept pursuing him and even Maggie’s estate. So, you continue to sue the lady that got murdered, but you expect us to believe you were going to drop her husband from the lawsuit. That was to support the state’s “motive” evidence to help backdoor all of the financials that were nothing more than character evidence.

Buster Murdaugh hiding on ‘Buster’s Island’ after dad’s murder conviction
Maggie Murdaugh and son Buster Murdaugh at graduation with his late mother, Maggie Murdaugh.
Many observers of the six-week double homicide trial of Alex Murdaugh felt sorry for the 54-year-old disgraced lawyer’s sole surviving son, copper-haired Buster.
The 26-year-old, who was at court every day for his father’s trial, has been left almost an orphan with his mother and brother dead and his father sentenced to life in prison for their murders.
“No person with a heart and soul cannot feel sympathy for that young man,” Columbia, SC, attorney Joseph M. McCulloch Jr., a Murdaugh family friend, told The Post. “It’s just been tragedy on top of tragedy for him. I don’t know how anyone can withstand that. I’m glad he has a girlfriend who seems so supportive.”
But even more, dark clouds are lurking overhead for the one-time law school student, one source with knowledge of the situation told The Post Friday.
“Buster is next … your son is next, Alex!” yelled an onlooker as Alex Murdaugh was led to a police van after his sentencing Friday morning.
The person seemingly was referring to the ongoing South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) investigation and lengthy rumors surrounding Buster’s possible involvement in the 2015 death of Stephen Smith.
Stephen’s body was found on a rural road in Hampton County, a few miles from the Murdaugh hunting lodge where Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were murdered in June 2021.
His skull was partially crushed, there was a hole in his forehead and his shoulder had been dislocated, according to documents in the case and photos his mother saw.
Based on those discrepancies, Sandy Smith believes her son’s body was deliberately placed in the road after he was murdered to make it look like a hit-and-run accident — and that there may have been a conspiracy among local officials and possibly the Murdaugh family to cover up Stephen’s death.
Both Sandy and former Highway Patrol investigator Todd Proctor, who oversaw the Smith case, previously told The Post that they believe Stephen may have been murdered — though the death was originally ruled a hit-and-run accident.
Sandy, has long been vocal about her belief that the Murdaugh family, including Buster, may have had some tie to Stephen’s death.

Speaking after Murdaugh’s conviction, Sandy told The Post: “That jury done excellent. They see through the lies and a Murdaugh is finally brought down.
“Now that this case is back over, they can get on Stephen’s case full-time.”
Buster — aka Richard Alexander Murdaugh Jr., named after his father and great-grandfather — lives with his lawyer girlfriend, Brooklynn White, at a condo that she owns in Hilton Head, SC.
But after Buster broke down outside court Friday, minutes after his father’s conviction, he was whisked off by his uncles to what is known as “Buster’s Island” — a property on Chechessee Creek, near Beaufort, SC, that has been in the Murdaugh family since the 1970s, a source close to the family said.
“There is not a lot of warmth for Alex or Buster in Hampton these days,” one Hampton resident whose family has known the Murdaughs for decades told The Post. “I think [Buster] will stick with his uncles and stay out on Hilton Head. I don’t see him coming back here.”
Buster’s cool and calm demeanor, which he showed in the court gallery every day of the trial as well as on the witness stand, evaporated Friday.

I wonder by what nefarious means the Murdaugh’s acquired that island.

Private island owned by Alex Murdaugh and suspected drug smuggler for sale in SC
It seems like they are trying to sell all islands they own but Buster Island?
Any SC locals know more about Buster's Island? Is it accessible by boat only?
ETA: DELETED Buster's Beach it wasn't SC. I wasn't sure...

Is it one of the three islands that Alex acquired as part of a LLC (? if those are the right corporate initials) when he was partners with the died-of-cancer drug dealer who had owned the hunting lodge property (with airstrip and hanger) where the murders just happened.
