That is the thing, I don't know where they parked it. It could have been right there, or a good distance away.

I'd exhaust all resources raising as much hell as needed to get the hotel to fix this.
But if that didn't work, then Yea I'd probably opt to pay it or ignore it before then going to court or whatever, that's where it seems it's not worth the additional hassle. But I'd certainly be in contact with the hotel and having direct conversations with them first.

I just opened it this morning. Gonna contact them today.

This is a civil matter and worst case, if you don’t pay the ticket they could potentially send it to collections, which would go on your credit report.
It sounds like the parking company is trying to frick you. Call the Marriott and speak to the GM directly. If need be, take it up the chain at Corporate.

I don’t fully follow what you are saying…but if your car was in the care of the hotel, just forward the ticket to the hotel and request they confirm when they have taken care of the affair. Do all communications in writing.

It’s all fun and games until Metropolis enters your vehicle info into the national database. Then they find your car and boot it or have it towed. Then your wife leaves you for the guy who gives her a ride home because the car is unavailable. So your wife forgetting something in the car leads to y’all getting divorced. Was it all worth it?

And this is the exact reason why they send out these fines. Sheeple will pay. It's worth it for them to send out notices.

Obviously the red light ticket scam works in Baton Rouge. If people weren’t paying the corrupt city when they received a red light ticket the program would have been axed years ago.

Call the hotel manager and tell them they either need to clear this up or pay it for you. You paid them for valet service and their valet got you ticketed

I'm not quite sure why the OP is posting this stupid shite. It's not your issue. It's the hotel's issue. Make them fix it.

Sounds like this company is pretty sketchy
Looks like Metropolis is the Riverside Towing of paid parking lots

So stupid and yet you replied. Thanks for your input.

Well, the ticket is linked to his information so to some extent it is his issue as well

Completely agree, and to a larger extent, this is why it works nationwide as well.

Google maps shows one parking garage that looks attached to the Marriott, and one more across the street. Either one are an easy walk.

This. Call the Marriott and speak to the manager.
If the valet parked it where it shouldn't have been, that's on the hotel. If the valet parked it in a legitimate spot, this may be part of a history of abusive behavior from the tow company that the hotel knows about (and may be fighting).

What if at the end of the day it turns out the valet cuckholds you because you stiffed him on a tip.
He’s gonna give your wife a stiff tip.
