I was expecting an a-hole valve (yes, that's a real thing).

I just automated some BAWs a few weeks ago for a water intake system

News flash: Resilient seated butterfly valves are all crap and all leak. They aren't made for anything stringent or high performance.

Best High Performance valve on the market with mix of performance and budget is Bray IMO. Keystone is more expensive but also good.

Best Triple Offset valve is Vanessa TOVs. Expensive but worth it IMO.

Pretty much all this. Bray is the best mixture of price/availability. Vanessa’s are the gold standard but like you said very expensive and can be very long lead time.

My only legit beef with Vanessa is their published MASTs are not much higher than their Break Torques so it can be a bitch to automate “by the book”.

Especially when Shell wants you to follow their stem sizing specs but still not exceed the MAST

Hot arse valve talk up in this bitch tonight.

I’ll start my dissertation on why I hate globe and diaphragm control valves tomorrow Followed by my “frick electric actuators” lecture friday. Tune in.

If it doesn't have an actuator, it's someone else's problem.

Like Vanessa - best quality, highest price. The XTZ seat is nice for higher temp applications where teflon is still needed to seal. Bray (And Crane-Flowseal honorable mention) offers marginally less quality at a better price and their stocking situation is favorable vs Keystone (emerson currently trying their best to kill it) or Jamebury.

Any high chemical attack or critical process that requires exotic alloy components? I'd lean Jamesbury if I had time to wait for it.

So no globe, butterfly, or diaphragm valves. What valves do you like?
