Putting the bypass to the South to help out SBR and Ascension Parish locals would be the most inefficient solution so I fully expect that this is what they'll do.
(hint: most of the truck traffic that crosses the bridge is coming from i-12, not i-10.)

I still don’t understand how someone coming from I-110 is supposed to cross over two lanes to get to the service road exit for Dalrymple. It looks like the service road is going to start right by the bridge exit which means more wrecks and slowdown at that area.

They are actually expanding it by adding a ramp to go eastbound I-10 from Dalrymple, although it uses a roundabout way to do it.
They are closing the exit at Dalrymple going eastbound on 10 where it is now. So now you can't access Dalrymple if yoiu are coming from I-110.

I10 east need to juat go straight coming off the bridge for another half miles or so...slowly bending back to meet up around Acadia or college

All of that for the 14 cars per day that use the Washington exit instead of just shutting it down. Its amazing how much we pander to the minority in every situation.

Spoken like a true NBR resident that already has quick access to 2, if not 3 (Audubon) bridges.

While they are at it, they need to address the Airline Hwy cloverleaf of death. It's one of the main causes traffic backs up to the split every day. It's a giant cluster frick.

Maybe we should build a second bridge in St Farncisville? The first one they built has worked!! The congestion problem there is solved as as there is hardly anyone on that bridge.

From the article, looks like I110 southbound will get off at the new exit before the split and go under the interstate, hook up with the new service road that will lead to Dalrymple. No more 110 traffic crossing lanes. I use that exit a lot, but if it means the split merges better, I am for it.
I will miss the Perkins on ramp though.

My grandfather and some of his co-workers carpooled from White Castle to downtown every day for decades. He retired in the late 80's but even back then he would complain about how a bridge was needed.
If for nothing else, put up a bridge just to lessen the burden of LA 1 between Plaquemine and I-10. That roadway is utter shite and in constant use.

This will cause a greater clusterfrick on Acadian in the morning and afternoon. This traffic will also slow down Perkins road from Acadian to Essen.
Isn't the plan for I-110 to use the new Terrace exit to access the Washington St. area? And why does the service exit have only one fricking ramp? The Bluebonnet/Siegen ramp has an exit for each road and Picardy.
Also, POLITICIANS AND BUREUACRATS, QUIT BENDING OVER BACKWARDS EVERY TIME SOMEONE BITCHES ABOUT NOT HAVING DIRECT ACCESS TO WASHINGTON STREET AND CHANGING PLANS TO CONSTANTLY INCLUDE IT! Goddamn, someone needs to grow some fricking balls and tell those people that exit isn't going away because they're black and the DOTD is racist, but that it's going away because it's a terrible location for an on/off ramp. The constant complainers also need to be told to sit down and shut up because that time would be better spent planning their new routes.
I would vote forever for any person who said that and refused to cater to that particular squeaky wheel.
