Interesting WW2 Blitzkrieg and Meth connection

Watching a Netflix series on WW2, the first one is titled Blitzkrieg and concentrates on the invasion of France and the development of Blitzkrieg as a tactic.
The Germans were heavily invested in using methamphetamine, issuing it to their troops, especially the panzer forces under the brand name Pervitin. They would stay awake and fight for days at a time using this, and as the war went on they used meth more and more, issuing it to factory workers and anyone they deemed essential to get more from them.
They had a factory dedicated to nothing but the production of the stuff. Imagine how many addicts they must have had...

Yeah but you have to come down sometime....look at Hitler himself. You know damn well he was on God knows what. He went from a powerful speaker to a paranoid shadow at the end.

If we are on it someone should be shot. The price is too high. I could see it if the damn Russians had ever come through the Fulda Gap but otherwise? No.

I saw that. And it explains how so many Germans became ok with the sick actions committed by the Nazi party. Meth pretty much makes you crazy and ruthless

Hitlers got to where he couldn’t function normally. He would take opiates for pain, uppers all day to keep him functional, then sleep aids to help him sleep. He needed a drug for every basic human function
