This is the St. Bernard Parish school board in a misguided political play trying to oppose the LIT with an elementary school next door…

For a fraction of the cost they would have paid previously. Now they cant go vertical on the pad since there are hotel rooms lining the entire surround. Its at best a single floor retail building now. Was worth way more when it affected the entire design and layout of the hotel.

This. Assuming he dies there, the best path for his kids is probably to let it become such an eyesore that it impacts the hotel’s revenue enough for them to pay an outsized amount just to demo it. Very little development value there now.

Is this basically Yellowstone? He told his parents he wouldn't sell, so he didn't, despite massive offers to get rich-ish, but will end up with nothing in the end?

So, what about property value there and taxes? Is that not part of this plot?

Another was $500,000 + a nearby house and a car.

Honestly, I feel like he could get much more than that, especially now.

There was this ol' baw back in my hometown that owned like 2 acres...enough to have a little pond surrounded by woods. The super Wal-Marks was moving to town...they needed his little piece to complete the property for their build. For whatever reason they acquired all the property around his and needed his to finish...he made a small fortune.

He would put around town in a little Isuzu pup truck...after they bought his spot he was seen driving a brand new loaded out Z-71. Mid 90s when this happened. He couldn't wipe the smile off his face.
