Interesting Animals On Your Property

It's Florida, so we have encountered gators, bobcats & iguanas on our property.
While trimming our Bougainvillea, ahead of Idalia, which by the way is an evil tree with thorns that are meant for nothing but sheer destruction, we royally p!ssed off a Loggerhead Shrike.
This little bird uses this tree, not only for protection, but to IMPALE rodents, snakes and other birds, larger than itself, on the thorns. Shrike translates to "Butcher" so naturally we named it Butch.
I thought this was fascinating. It is staring at me through the front window, probably contemplating impaling me for messing with its house.
Yeah, yeah, CSB.

I've seen several Naugas on our property.
They were hunted almost to extinction back in the 1970's and 1980's because of the demand for their hides for sofas and chairs.

I have animals on my property, none of which I would call interesting. Possums, rabbits, etc.

All the rabbits have attracted the red foxes where we live. I see a fox every once a while when I leave for work around sunrise.

Live in BR
It’s noon and I’m cutting grass. AirPods in my ears and oblivious to the world. I look back towards the bayou at the rear of my property and there’s a big arse coyote looking at me. Couldn’t have been more than 40’.
I was shocked considering you never really see coyotes at midday.

Bears are making a comeback in NE Louisiana. No word on pythons though.

Was it foaming at the mouth?
If so, it's probably very thirsty.
You should try bringing it a dish of water.
I'm sure you'll bond with it and it can be your spirit animal....

Also very easily domesticated.

In Moss Bluff, LA. Found a bobcat skull, fresh kill apparently. Spotted a few coyotes. Bunch of snakes and lizards. Got some pet rabbits that free roam. Sometimes the neighbor's exotic chickens will jump the fence. My lot doesn't border the woods so I don't get anything really cool.

I currently have a few. Family of raccoons that just kinda roam around. They do get loud at night sometimes though. I have a hawk family that is training a baby to hunt ATM. Cool as shite watching them fly around the yard. Also have a family of box turtles that live in the yard and mostly hang around the creek that serves as a drainage area. I have a bird house and 2 feeders that pretty much keep anywhere from a few birds to 50 at a time feeding.
My yard is a zoo sometimes
Oh and I have bats out the arse. Have a bat house on a tree. Sunset they all come out and destroy the mosquitos
