How is that even possible? Do you know how hard it would be to keep a murder quiet if it happened some place like...say...Shenandoah? Between police scanners, social media, word of mouth, etc, there is no way a murder in a place like that gets kept quiet, even if the police tried.

The REASON their r more murders in NBR is cause MORE POLICE PRESENTS CAUSES MORE VIOLENCE!

I haven't lived in BR since 2001.
I was in town this past weekend and stopped by Tony's. It never ceases to amaze me how north BR is fully and utterly steeped in blight with absolutely no hope of improvement. Who is gonna step up and spearhead a revival instead of simply bitching incessantly about systemic problems?

well that's an easy one. I'll take it.
The bigger platform Gravy has, the greater chance he'll actually get to be apart of the current administration or the next administration. Despite having no college degree or any government experience (really doesn't matter to the NBR voters tho). And the faster South Baton Rouge splits from....well, the area where all the balloons in that interactive map are.
ain't nobody got time for long nights, hard work, and all that effort. Gubment, write us a check!!!

It certainly started as education. But now that we have tried community policing it's even more apparent that the unincorporated areas need to incorporate and govern themselves.
The current leadership and population that empowered them have no idea or desire to fix this issue

They read a bunch of non-fact based theories from social activists and think these ideological tactics are effective at fixing problems in their community. It's like putting a new coat of paint on a house with a busted foundation and claiming everything is fixed.
They want to enact feel-good ideological policies that have no effect in reality. And the sad part is they're only wasting finite funds a furthering the plight of those they claim to protect.

Was curious myself, so did a quick Google search. According to this Nola.com article (written July 8th, 2016): EBR census shows the population is 54.5% Black, but the EBR Police Department is only ~30%.

You can't hire people whom don't apply for the job..
And since "frick the police" is a common thought in the north baton rouge area, is it surprising that they aren't applying in droves?
