I mean, maybe mobilize dozens of buses and arrest every curfew breaker. Zip tie them, cart their arse to convention centers and make them sit for a couple of days? I'm at a loss.

The President mobilizing the military to act as domestic law enforcement should be a moment we all dread seeing. I'm not sure what's controversial about that. To get to the point that our cities are so far gone that state and local law enforcement are deemed ineffective and it goes to the military is a sobering moment and we shouldn't think of it lightly.

Individual cities? Are you blind?

NYC
Seattle
Portland
Dallas
Houston
Salt Lake City
Atlanta
Minneapolis
LA
Chicago
Nashville
Kansas City

I mean this is all over the country. “Bad night” is quite an understatement. It’s unprecedented lawlessness.

The last thing we need is unleashed police forces. I have no clue what the answer is but people all over this country will start firing back at cops. Would take a generation to recover from it.

This.

IDK the answer but if the cops/military start shooting, there's gonna be shooting back.

It should be where all the patriots pick up their AR's and get ready for battle.

The military isn’t a peacekeeping force. Once rules of engagement have been breached the peace will only return when the military has achieved their objective.

It would be a bad night for Antifa.

I reallllly don't like the President mobilizing the military against citizens to quell rebellion even when its lawless violence like we're seeing.

That's a seductive thought, but...it's time to get real.

Hell no. Let them burn their precious Progressive enclaves and deny all federal aid to them for the cleanup and rebuild. Let them live with the world they have created for themselves.

This is 100% on Governors and Mayors. Trump needs to stay out.

Yep. But just like with covid, the media and dems will act like mayors and govs are powerless and will blame trump (even though they bitched when he threatened to take over MN operations)

They are behaving this way because they do not fear there are any repercussions. These riots would breakup if actual shots get fired.

Only a small select group would actually 'battle' the enforcers and they would lose quickly.

Because I think it's a bad place to be if the President takes the step of mobilizing military forces to act as law enforcement against citizens? That's would be a sad moment in US history. So absolutely, I hope it doesn't come to that. Locals need to get their shite together.

Defend your work.

I’m not disagreeing with you, but off the top of my head I know Eisenhower sent federal troops to Little Rock to enforce desegregation when local authorities refused. So federal troops were used to control the situation then. It could be done again.

But this should be the national guard now.

I don't know many Little Rock details, but were the feds and state on different sides of the law being enforced?

Pretty sure they are on the same side of these riots, just may disagree on how to end them.

Yeah the situations aren’t exactly the same, but the point is the federal military used force to control a domestic situation. So it could be done, and it wouldn’t be the end of the world. But it should not have to be done.
