In La do I need to add my two 16 year olds on my car insurance or just let them drive under my name?? Not looking to buy them anything right now, but to let them drive my car around a little bit and see how it goes.

pretty sure your insurance company requires you to let them know of all licensed drivers in your house

You don't technically have to add them.

If they get in an accident, youll have to pay higher premiums but that is a given.

I would read your policy. Not every auto policy is the same. However, I'm pretty certain you will need to call the insurance company and add new drivers; even family.

Nothing to add, but you might want to add a little more to the title so this doesn't get anchored.

You 100% must add any drivers in your household that drive your vehicle.

The ONLY alternative is to get them their own policy. Every driver must be covered, period.

Time to shop around your insurance needs.
Call around to a broker.
You'll save hundreds.

If you want your insurance company to pay when they hit someone (and they will), yeah.

You do not. Any licensed driver who lives in your household and has permission to use your car, uses your insurance as well.

So, you're telling us that a household with 5 people, three of them between 16 and 21, only needs to insure the single member of the household that would get the cheapest rates and they're all good to go?

The Louisiana Department of Insurance seems to disagree.
