Property and Casualty Pools are not used to pay Life claims

Even if under the same corporate umbrella, they are incorporated as totally separate entities

You could get around the legal requirement to buy insurance by just using public transportation and Uber/Lyft instead of driving

You really don't understand how the world works, do you?

Part of the fare you pay to public transportation or to Uber goes to pay THEIR insurance. You ride, you pay.

So Walmart closes down in Seattle due to a loss from shoplifting and everyone laughs, saying “good”/LOL liberals?

Insurance company in Florida can’t operate in a region due to prior loss/future risks, and we are mad?

Capitalism until it’s not convenient? Would you like the government to force Farmer’s to offer policies in Florida? Should the government also force other private businesses to provide services at a loss?

Uhhh what?

Sounds exactly like capitalism to me. Insurance company realizes it cant make money in the current loss/legal environment so they pull out.

We stopped writing any OLT liability in FL because the legal climate is so shitty. Numerous other carriers have done the same. Therefore, the carriers that stay get to increase premium because supply is low.

I think I have a pretty good understanding. The post I replied to was talking about being forced to buy insurance so you're not committing a crime. The only time I'm aware that you'd be committing a crime for failing to buy insurance is if you're driving a vehicle on public roads without liability insurance.

Part of the price you pay at the grocery store goes to pay their insurance. Part of the price you pay for a meal at a restaurant goes toward covering their insurance. Part of what a mechanic shop charges to fix your car goes towards paying their insurance. Uber is no different than every other business out there that pays for insurance and has to factor that and every other cost of doing business into their pricing.

The only people who thing insurance is a scam are the ones that have never had to actually use their policy. I’m sure the numerous widows who got million dollar life insurance checks when their loved ones died unexpectedly disagree with you

I feel very differently about life insurance than I do health and property insurance. I don’t think the last two should be operated by for profit companies.

A self proclaimed wealthy individual thinks insurance is to protect his own shite vehicle and Carries bare minimum liability coverage You never cease to amaze

The more you have the more you seek to protect that stuff. There’s a reason why the term OT-Baller exists.

Correct, hence why a truly wealthy customer will carry max liability limits with an umbrella to protect said worth. They definitely don’t drive with bare minimum coverage because they can self insure.

Then again, we all know BabyTac is a fricking tool and has no real wealth.

Why shouldn’t property insurance companies turn a profit? It’s a business not a charity.
