but honestly, would you, as a wild animal, want to sit in a cage for four hours with tons of noise etc?

Perhaps an area in the Press Box could be found. Tigers have good vision and the sound would not be too bad up there.

The early articles said it was the decision of the vet that cared for Mike. Everything he said showed that it was strictly him that did not want Mike at the games.
I lived in south stadium and would come out to watch the visiting team's busses arrive to the tunnel. Mike's cage was in the dark, in the tunnel. When the teams walked by, he would growl about 135 db. It would scare the hell out of them.
This vet has taken that away.

Catwalk idea is great. Put his food in there so he gets used to it. Gives him more space to roam. Leave a kitty treat for him in there at the start of the 4th quarter (stadium is empty/quiet). If he comes over, fine. No one forced him. Airflow could be designed so he can smell that goat hind quarter in the stadium.

You sound so fricking stupid. You could put barking dogs in the “dark tunnel” to scare them. Mike never scared anyone over 10 years old.
Try scaring your opponent with a suffocating defense and scorching offense.

I have smelled some prime hindquarter in the stadium as well.

No motherfricker. You are stupid. You are claiming that something didn't happen that I saw many times. Come at me a little nicer from now on, not like a flaccid dickhead.

We need to build a giant hamster style tube system throughout the stadium.

Seems like he's disappeared from national awareness now that he no longer shows up to the games.
I can’t believe y’all don’t realize that the above is EXACTLY WHY they quit bringing him to the games. LSU was getting heat from PETA (not PITA you oafs) and other animal activists and wanted it to end. They floated a trial balloon of no more live tiger mascots and, thank God, some major donors / power players blew a gasket. So the compromise was no more bringing him to the games.
Ever notice that the new enclosure / habitat has embossed Roman numerals for Mike I, Mike II, etc along with the years he was at LSU? Then notice that they have already put Mike IX, Mike X, Mike XI, etc up there. That was a not so subtle reminder that the university is expected to keep a live tiger.

Mike not going to the games is just a first step in LSU not having a live mascot. This could very well be the last live Mike we have on campus.

TOM the Tiger still attends games in Memphis. This is his mobile enclosure:

It's a sanctuary now, arse. He's never going to go out to games. Ever.
No shite. That's a fricking tiger in the vicinity of 90,000 meals. Or mauling victims. Go visit mike, he does not need to visit you.
Shot like that died in the 70's with lawn darts, kids toys without GFI switches, and refusing to wear seat belts.

a-hole still doesn't get it!

What about a tunnel from his habitat to an enclosed area in tiger stadium where he can come and go as he pleases.

Why not just bring him in after halftime when the stadium is empty and docile?

give him headphones like the players have when they walk down the hill
So how will he put these on while lacking the opposable thumbs?

This is the dumbest thing I’ve heard in a while.
