It is a pretty lake, toxic or not. Dumb is dumb, but at least that toxic dump looks good

But it makes sense if you're an advertiser. Some of the follower counts these people have on instagram and youtube is astronomical. If you know 12 million people watch this persons videos pretty regularly, sure you're going to pay that person to peddle your product. A lot of these gaming streamers get paid a good bit of money to play a certain game.
It's weird to think about "influencer" being an every day term now, but the world she's a changing.

No more pathetic than every other form of advertising.
You pay for cable yet you get barraged with 3 minutes of commercials for every 5 minutes of programming, and in the programming there are product placements.
You spend hundreds to take your family to a sports game and still have to be barraged with advertisements every where your eyes and ears go.
You step outside your house and just want to go for a drive and gigantic billboards await you.
At least with instagram, the advertising is sort of welcomed by many of the users.
