Instagram has brainwashed modern women

It seems these days my wife (no pics, soft OT 6.5) gets essentially every thought or opinion she has from instagram. Parenting tips, health and wellness, food recipes, career advice, you name it. I get links all the time from her to these posts with 15 slides each, which sometimes I get quizzed on at the end of the day to see if I read them (I rarely do.)
If she hasn’t seen something on her algorithm it’s almost like it can’t be true or doesn’t exist until instagram verifies it for her. Many of her friends do the same shite too. I’m not sure they could function on a daily basis without their insta-cope.

Social Media (as much as I enjoy it at times) is definitely a net negative for society

Instagram is just like the other others. YouTube, Reddit, etc. There’s tons of good information there if you can steer your algorithm in the right direction. The bad thing is that there’s probably more slop than good.

If we can be frank, instagram is just the current vehicle. Pinterest, Etsy, Snapchat, etc. are all the same. Some women are very impressionable, as are men for that matter.
They don't want something unless someone else has it or tells them how awesome it is.

Check out the documentary "The Social Dilemma". It'll break down what social media does to the brain. I found it to be pretty wild and enlightening.

My baw has been dealing with this from his wife. Apparently its gotten kind of crazy.
