Not sure where you’re located but there’s a place in Gonzales that was open and doing inspections Friday. I know they weren’t open at least several different days over the past couple weeks because I noticed them being closed as I passed by. But they were definitely open Friday doing inspections and had a line of 15-20 cars.
I don’t remember the name of the place but they’re across airline from Walmart, next door to Ichiban

My wife got one for her vehicle on the first of April. So they are still doing them in Monroe

By the way, stupid or not, they are still called brake tags in New Orleans because the main thing that was checked/inspected on cars years ago used to be the brakes. It has nothing to do with where the sticker/tag is placed on the vehicle.

I remember shortly after I got me permit, my mom had me take the Delta 88 up to the Shell station to get a brake tag.
Pulled into the bay, put it in park, hit the brake pedal, turned on the headlights, put them on bright and that was it

They were telling you a story. They can get stickers. I know one that isn't doing them unless they are working on your car. They don't want to be in people's faces when changing out stickers. I also know the DMV in one area is opened for certain businesses 2 days a week. Just not to the pubic.

I don't know if this will help you but Crovetto's Official Louisiana Motor Vehicle Inspection Station, 727 N. Causeway Blvd., Mandeville, LA is open today until 2 p.m. Usual hours Mon. through Sat. 9 a.m to 6 p.m. No inspection during rainy weather conditions, too. (985) 674-1165 & (985) 630-2231.

I havent gotten one on any of the last 3 vehicles I've purchased. Just another stupid tax.
