It's definitely about the money and not safety.
That's just it. There's always that one place you can get a sticker at no questions asked. Someone could have taken a baseball bat to your windshield and they'll still give you a sticker so long they get the money.

If I had to guess, it was the change to a sticker that could not be easily pulled off and moved to another car. Now all the letters just stay on the windshield when the backing simply falls apart.

This is 100% true as this is the place I go to. In and out in less than 5 minutes.

Yeah, mine expired 8 months ago and is starting to peel.

Extra wide scotch tape works for me

a good bit of the right corner has let loose... but 3/4 of it is still holding tight

quote:We're more likely to get stamps for the inspection stickers to indicate that the sticker has been inspected after the inspection agent has placed the inspection sticker. This will be another $25 inspection fee and will be used for additional glue expenses ... and of course the stamp maker, the ink maker, the stamp distributor, and ink distributors, will all be brothers to higher ups in the state govt..
Will never happen in this state. You have to have the benevolent state's permission in the form of a license to be a fricking florist. You think we're going to get rid of inspection stickers?

Arkansas abolished inspection stickers in the 90s.

The state told us to tape them back on. They literally told us to take some scotch tape and tape that bitch back on until we get the next one.

You guys need to be more like Alabama and not have stupid vehicle inspections.
Posted on 5/20/20 at 9:24 pm to Roll Tide Ravens
There was a move to get rid of them last year and just add the fees to vehicle registration or whatever.
They had no answer with what they were going to do with the hundreds of little privately owned vehicle inspection stations though.

I'll take shitty inspection stickers over fricking relatives any day.

What are they actually inspecting in order for you to obtain an inspection sticker?
Posted on 5/20/20 at 9:32 pm to Ross
Inspecting your checkbook to funnel the money to various politicians.

That your blinkers, headlights, taillights and horn work. They are also supposed to fail you for windshield cracks that impede your vision.
Some parishes have an EPA emissions test too which is total BS because any air quality issues in those areas are mostly due to chemical plants and oil refineries.

When the state was talking about abolishing the inspection sticker program last year, it was reported by one of the news channels in Baton Rouge that the residents of the five parishes in metro Baton Rouge will still have to obtain an inspection sticker because the air quality in those parishes does not meet the federal minimum requirements.

Do you have to pay a penalty if your sticker falls off before your renewal date?
Posted on 5/20/20 at 9:48 pm to coonasswhodat
Well, it's bullshite that passenger vehicles are significantly impacting the local air quality.
We don't have a dense enough population for this to even be possible. Otherwise it would be an issue in all top 70 metros or so.
