Try reading something by Jane Austen. Always helped me get to sleep.

Just told him to see a psychologist because meds aren't the answer?

So you gave him an action to not take meds, but are now saying you didn't say he was taking meds. Makes no sense.

Good gawd. Reading comprehension is not this places strong suite.

1). He's not regularly taking any medications.
2). He took melatonin last night.
3). Melatonin isn't a drug, it's a supplement of a naturally occurring neurotransmitter that helps regulate our circadian rhythm.

1. How fat are you? joking what’s you neck size in inches?
2 Have a sleep study done!
3 If you can’t sleep get up out of bed do something anything but laying in bed.
*sleep deprived is more dangerous than drinking and driving.

So what does your typical nighttime routine look like? A lot of times issues with sleep can be fixed with something as simple as tweaking your sleep routine.

Also, do you snore? Is it possible you're having some apnea?

Do you watch TV or surf on your phone in bed? Are you working out in the evening?

Get worn out dealing with kids and your sleep cycles will become more regular. Ask me how I know.

Apnea sleep test - do it now. Life changer.

Moderate caffeine and shut down completely 6hrs or more before sleep.

No screen time 1hr before sleep (ph, tv and computer)

Balance and regular: diet, sunlight and exercise (don’t exercise within 2hrs of sleep).

Repeat: sleep apnea test!

Good luck

Yes. As in "don't do drugs kids" doesn't imply they are taking drugs.

Yes. This is not complicated.

This will be considered a little risky, but get in your most comfortable spot in the house (most is bed, some is the sofa/recliner). Get the room set-up to go to sleep (music, white noise, fans, a/c...). Then, ask your wife how her day was, and what her weekend plans are.

Everybody's covered this well. Just some extra tips:

1) Double up on that 3 gm Melatonin
2) Magnesium Glyconate (Magnesium form matters. This is better at relaxing tense muscles)
3) L-Theanine (helps shut down over-active mind)
4) 5-HTP (Promotes calm -- CAUTION on the amount if you take pain/psychotropic meds. You WILL dream)
5) Valerian (Safe sleep aid. Works well)
6) HOT Shower/ Bath (relaxes body & mind)
7) Stay away from TV/Blue Screen Light
8) Use a "White Noise" background machine (water sounds)
9) Sink into your "MY PILLOW"
10) STILL toss and turn because this advice SUCKED!! (Sam Kinison voice)
