Yeah, it's why I posted it. Figured Louisiana baws would find it interesting if they didn't know it was out there.
Fascinating video.

some are. a lot are just following one person around who gives their version of the way things are for the area. Don't fool yourself into thinking that's the way things actually are.
A few weeks ago he followed a real estate agent around that told Peter what a great area it was. lol no shite

The standard Cajun history in these kinds of things is usually not all that accurate.
The Acadians didn't come directly to Louisiana.
They give the impression that the area was uninhabited except for Indians when the Acadians arrived. Really, there were already European-descended (mostly French) people in the area. In some places, a lot of the "Cajun" people are descended from non-Acadian French.

Well yeah, that's his thing. He let's them tell their story and he's not pushing any agenda nor judging. That's why its great.
Recently, the guy told his view of Jackson, MS. What a positive spin he had, but that's how he sees it. It's definitely not how I see it.

Does he cover the topic of haircuts and where to get them? Asking for a friend.

My SIL's family is French Canadian descended but they came here in the early 20th century to work as lumberjacks.

Just finished watching it. He's no Bourdain but he didn't make us all look like idiots so I'll take it. Uncle T's is legit. His Fairhope video a couple weeks ago was good also.

Plaid shirt tucked into blue jeans seems to be the uniform, which checks out with an old cajun I used to work with in Atlanta. Same outfit every day, plaid shirt tucked into blue jeans. Suspenders optional.

Looks like he did a video of New Orleans that will come out soon

Most people in South Louisiana, including most Cajuns, do not know the actual history. Ask the average Coonass about La Grand Derangement, Beausoleil, Germans like Toupses and Haydels, Evangline, Islenos and Maliguanos (sp.), or even that the Cajuns were divided into two categories, prairie and wetlands, and they won't be able to tell you much.

Thanks for the heads up. When he said he was heading south I was wondering if he would make a stop in Louisiana.
