These are illegal, arrestable offences?

Well, it's not really evading arrest if they are not trying to arrest you. I don't think that running from the police is always going to be a criminal act. In some instances it certainly is.

If a police officer gives an order it's illegal to run from them. It's just the fact of the law. Now if they don't order you to do anything you can run all you want.

Better step back bro, if they wear a shield they are beyond reproach!!!

I mean no way that anecdote happened the way I described because I'm a admitted criminal and I no doubt deserve whatever someone wearing a shield deserves to dish out to me!

I've been arrested. But, I was innocent.

Everybody in OPP that night was.

so what's the other part of the problem, the plethora of fricking disgusting human beings that act as thugs hiding behind a badge? Are they part of the problem? Or is it just me, someone who has admitted his mistakes in life, never hurt anyone or took anything from anyone and paid his dues to society.

BTW: anybody else find it a little humorous that the cop defender has named himself public enemy?

I don't get why you can't be supportive of the boys in blue but also despise any and all abuse of power?

Why does it all have to be all one way or the other. It's like you have to have blind support or you are a thug piece of shite criminal that deserves to be put in your place

Whether it's true or not, Stafford and Norris greenhouse killed a 6 year old boy and tried to kill his father who had his hands raised, because of a personal beef.

So frick him.

In all seriousness, you're absolutely right.

As I noted in my earlier post, Anne Frank (yeah, that one) was an early teenage girl who had to hide for her life simply because she was born to a Jewish family. No more reason than that.

Granted, it's an extreme example but it's happened. Sure, the "boys in blue" are asked to do difficult things and I respect them for that. But this doesn't mean everything they do is justified.

No idea. I think it's safe to say that good cops despise the crooked cops and that there are way more good than bad.

It's got to be a case by case basis. I'm sympathetic towards cops because their job is hard and I would want no business dealing with the problems they deal with every day. I couldn't do the job. I lack the patience and temperament.

Crooked cops are terrible though because you go in front of a judge afterwards with charges that aren't accurate of what you did. Judges imo are some of the most powerful people in the country and being portrayed as a worse person than you are is horrible for your future

Saw a black kid on cops do this because da po leese shot his uncle. I'll be damned if they didn't find crack in his pocket.

It's easier for people that way. Public enemy wants to look at everything in black and white. Drug addicts are bad. Cops are good. See? Easy AF It doesn't require much thought, and there's a simple solution for most things. There are good drug addicts, and bad cops. That's reality.

public enemy is probably an engineer or an accountant (nerd).

In the philosophical sense that none of us are innocent, I suppose you're correct.

Nail hit on head.
In a court of law, there is no innocent plea. Just guilty or not guilty.

A little bit surprised it was Lucas that got this right.

hat's a lame copout, no pun intended. If you have done nothing wrong, you engage in conversation and go about your way. In fact, the very act of running from the cops makes you not-innocent anymore, seeing as how that act in itself is a crime.

So no, innocent people do not run from the cops.

Yes, because the police have never fricked anyone over. Do you realize how many people have been incarcerated that were totally innocent of the crime they were convicted of?

You almost got it right. You just missed a few words including that one little word, "lawful." If a police officer gives you a lawful order to stop, it is illegal to run from them. If it is not a lawful order, then it is not illegal to run from them. It probably won't end well for you either way, but there is a difference and it has to do with the limitation on the police officer's authority.

I was leaning more to you bring drink/high and having a extremely one sided view of it filled with gaping holes from memory lapses, but what do I know.
