How many people on here are from the Suwanee/Buford/sugar hill area? I have probably run into a few of you at Kroger or Rico’s.

A friend recently moved to Blue Ridge, GA. About a hour from Atlanta in the Smoky Mountain foothills and loves it.

Lived right off of Buford Highway by Lanier for a few years... I liked the area but the traffic was rough for a small town guy like me. I went to the Golds gym off Peachtree industrial by North Gwinnett high.

Then moved off Duluth highway in Lawrenceville /316... I liked that intersection with the Target/ Publix/amc.. almost anything I wanted was a stone throw away. Also that’s golds gym by the Hooters always had bentley’s Or Lambo’s there .
I’m sure it was one of you OT ballers

Blue Ridge is really nice for a mountain town Thriving downtown and a lot of outdoor activities.

Where shopping truly is a pleasure. I can’t hardly stand to set foot in a Kroger.

Wherever you end up, always leave crazy early for downtown or the airport. When traffic goes wrong it goes very wrong.
Look at Inrix traffic app, for both morning and evening rush hours. All of the red will be on roads north of I20. Totally nuts almost every day.

Why not just move to the Chattanooga area and avoid state income tax? Chattanooga obviously isn't atlanta , but it's a beautiful, great little city. Especially great if you like outdoor activities

Chattanooga is a great town, but his budget won't let him live on Signal, and he can't afford private school. The high schools in Hamilton county are flaming dogshit, and it is going to keep the town from being able to grow and attract top talent.

My wife and I love the area, but we need to move before the kids hit middle school age.

Publix is GOAT and one of the things I miss most about living in GA

I’ll never forget, one time, I was shopping there on a Saturday morning before the football games started and I had a cartful and I was next to check out , I shop with headphones in and listen to podcasts and I wasn’t in a hurry and I’m a very impatient person however I didn’t even feel like I had been in line for very long at all , and the manager came over and “ I notice you’ve been in line to check out for awhile , due to the inconvenience I’ll be taking half off your Boars head turkey.”
It’s the little things...

Very nice. But an hour to Atlanta is not possible. It’s 90 minutes on a Sunday morning.

A lot of them are vastly improved these days.

I actually prefer over Publix now. I live basically equidistant from a Pube, a nice Kroger, Earth Fare, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Walmart (pretty nice one in Decatur), and Trader Joe's, with a 365 being built, and Costco, Sam's and Aldi a little farther out.

Publix at Emory is the closest, but it's a last resort.

Kroger at Mountain Park makes the best Publix I've ever been in look cruddy.

The remodeled one on Wilmington Island in Savannah is great.
