I guess I should have been more clear. They say that kids don’t seem to transmit it, and that if they do get it, it’s either most mild or asymtomatic. I didn’t mean to be misleading or disingenuous.

End of March here in LCH. Hospital staff was tremendous.

Thanks! Congrats! All good to know. I think the staff will be great. As if having a baby isn't challenging enough, let’s do it in a pandemic. Brilliant

We have been holding off on #2 because of COVID. My wife works in healthcare so she's been super leary of getting pregnant with little to no data on the effects of COVID on pregnant women, babies in utero, and or newborns.

Silver lining: visitor restrictions makes it a more intimate experience for you as mom and dad. I know it’s selfish, but I treasure that I didn’t have to share the experience with extended family and friends.

What sucks is I haven’t been able to be with my wife for ultrasounds and doctors visits. Luckily I’ll get to be in the room when she delivers but it sucks to not have had the whole experience together.

So I don’t think that’s selfish at all—I had a steady train of visitors for first two and while I appreciated them, it was all together exhausting and made the stay very busy. I am actually looking forward to a “three day vacation” at the hospital spa with full room service
It’s funny that as a mom I sometimes daydream about having a minor surgery that could give me a 1-2 night stay in a hospital. Nothing life threatening but enough that it’s covered by insurance and gets me a couple days of being “pampered”

That is crappy. We have had a couple miscarriages so we decided to go to a first glimpse ultrasound place before I could go to my first appt at 12 weeks. We wanted my husband to be able to experience hearing the heartbeat for the first time in person since the last two times were met with sadness. Luckily this pregnancy all has been well and he at least got to experience that. It was hard to see his expression due to the mask but I could make out his big grin due to his eyes squinting and watering up.

Word of advice for your husband: find out the food sitch and pack accordingly. The cafe at our hospital constricted their hours and only patients received room trays. I wasn’t permitted to leave and re-enter, though this was very early on.

Wife delivered our son a few weeks ago, Got pregnant in October. Wasn't a thing back then.

I second this. We had our baby back in Oct and he was a NICU baby so we couldn’t have visitors and it was actually nice. It sucked cuz he was in the NICU and not with us but I never had to feel like I had to have visitors. It was nice just having just hubby there. And no one outside of grandparents has met lil dude really because it was flu season and then covid hit.
