Without being too graphic, I would just like to go on record as saying that aspect of post c section/child birth is worse than the surgery or birthing process, itself. I shite you not (pun intended)
THE WORST part of the recovery by and far.

Yeh cuz all your shut is fricked up and torn and now you gotta push poop out. fricking awful. And after I had the 3rd I was so stressed it took FOREVER for that to happen.

I explained to my nurses how traumatic my first experience was and they doubled me up on softeners and let me have coffee from the nurses station to help me out
I’m just gonna sneak in miralax for this next one. God I’m dreading that ten times more than being cut up and having that recovery. You just don’t know what you’ve got when you’re regular for so long and then it is stolen away from you, then you have to figure that out with an incision (either in your hoo ha or lower abdomen)!

Colace was easier to smuggle in FWIW. They washed down quite nicely with mini Oreos.

The worst part of the entire process for me was getting the epidural. Idk if he didn’t wait long enough between administering the numbing medication and the epidural, but that pain was the worst thing I’ve ever felt in my life. Afterwards it was great though

Oh my... I don’t remember feeling mine beyond a small pinch of the needle so yes, must have been something out of the ordinary. Yikes!

I'll add another perspective to this conversation: our little one is almost 12 weeks old and was born right in the middle of the peak of the pandemic in one of the worst-hit cities in the country, so we went through the whole rigmarole of quarantining beforehand, trying to be careful afterwards, being cautious about who holds him, etc.
I wasn't and never have been that worried about Covid for him. Unlike in other age groups, Covid really is statistically meaningless for babies (and yea, I know there are cases across the country, but I am talking about the 4-odd million kids under the age of 1 across the whole country, and it is quite rare for it to be serious). I worry much more about SIDS, any undetected heart defects, bacterial infections, and a myriad of other things that have a higher likelihood of being serious with an infant than I do with Covid.
Having said that, I do try to be especially careful with grandparents. They will want to hold and care for the little one as much as possible, especially if it's their first. I could not in good conscience deny them that, but you need to be careful about what you do before you're around them.

Yeah, that’s what everyone tells me. I did get the epidural a little bit early (wasn’t in excruciating pain or really hard labor at the point I asked for it) so maybe that was part of it. It’s not like I was in so much pain I was begging for the epidural or anything. I just asked for it when I felt things ramping up. So maybe next time I will wait until I’m in so much pain that I don’t even notice the epidural being placed

My epidural didn’t work AT ALL for my second birth. Involuntary natural birth. When I was on labor for the third I was so scared that it wouldn’t work but my dr got that sucker in and working n about 3 min. Praise Jesus.
