20 casualties, 43 Chinese soldiers have been deemed casualties in the stand-off, government sources confirmed to media agency ANI.
Who provided these numbers? If the Chinese Government did, we know it is a lie. They have proven that they are liars, even when the truth would be sufficient.

Do people in western China start to look like Indians or are they still "Asian" featured?

Not surprising that there is some push, in light of recent statements made by the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, which stated that Indian's change in policy along the border in Ladakh would require a Chinese response. This does represent a sea change in approach to the Ladakh situation in particular, whereas in the 90's, the Chinese suggested that Pakistan and India cooperate about Kashmir, to now, with the Chinese stating directly that their western frontier troop movements are tied directly to Indian actions in Ladakh.
The statement from the Chinese ambassador was quite serious too, as the ambassador invoked the Ladakh situation as one that involved both Pakistani and Chinese sovereignty, given how sensitive the Chinese are about sovereignty issues.
I think the sea change represents a degree of confidence in the development of the native Chinese defense industry, which began a modernization process in the 1970's, with the process to be finished by 2050, though now it is expected to finish by the 2030's, with much of their equipment now produced domestically. The relative power difference between China and its near neighbors also reflects in the degree of foreign aid, which has effectively bought off the entire Central Asian region.

Think Tibetan looking because, well, they're Tibetan. China kind of took that too. India knows what China is up to. Give a mouse a cookie and all that good stuff.

According to reports, no weapons were used in the skirmish. It was hand to hand, with most of the casualties due to falls in the steep terrain.
