Incoming Economic Collapse?

I think everyone would agree, that the media is pushing the narrative and instilling mass fear. The weak-minded are the ones buying 100 packs of toilet paper. That being said, I am much more worried about an economic collapse. We are seeing everything closing. Sports, church services, concerts, schools, colleges, etc. The economic impact has to be enormous. Correct me if my thinking is flawed.

The economic impact is enormous. That doesn’t mean economic collapse though.

The market regained over 1/3 of it's losses in a single day yesterday. We will be fine.

Trucking business is odd right now, drivers are asking for crazy rates but the shippers don't want to pay them

It’s all temporary. If it lasts more than a couple of months then I’d get worried.

You are corrected. This thing will be over shortly. Relax.

I don't know. But even if there's a major impact, wouldn't it tend to be a "disruption" rather than a "collapse"?
And if the USA can be destroyed by such a relatively non-lethal biological agent, hasn't the USA's FedGov failed to execute its most basic function: to safeguard the survival of the nation-state?
If the USA fails such a relatively minor test, perhaps the USA wasn't destined to last forever. After all, major internal political factions have been working hard for over 50 years to harm the interests of the USA. Perhaps they succeeded in weakening it.

Rates always drop when fuel prices drop. Nature of the beast.

Spain is about to join Italy in complete shutting down the country to stop the spread.
When will some of you get it through your heads that this is real? We’re in precisely the same situation Italy and Spain were roughly ten days ago, and were doing nothing differently. In fact we’ve been worse in almost every way

My company sells a luxury good. I fully expect a dip, even though our owner remains optimistic. I, myself, am being more cautious, as I do not want to bring it home to my kids. I can not imagine that I am alone in that train of thought. People just are not going to be as social for a few months, while this passes.

Trucking business is fine right now. All you have to do is get on I-10 to see for yourself.

This rumor needs to die. Worst bio agent ever. It gives you a bad cold and only kills the really young or old.

Most businesses will have a bad Q1-Q2 and go back to normal.
I'm more worried about small businesses and the impact on them. I think the government is going to try to step in and prop some of them up.
Energy is a whole different ballgame.

It will rebound I dont think it will get to pre corona levels because the market was due for a correction.

Quit being such a pussy. There are tens of thousands who have it but they are not dying. Sort of like the flu

Are you aware that we’re only just now getting close to the level the economy was at when jug ears left office? The economy is still very very strong.
Our economy is still the most stable and strongest economy in the world. Don’t listen to the media.
However, frick the Democrats in the House of Representatives for axing the payroll tax cut while giving out more free shite.
