BRISTOL — Videos released Tuesday by the state Office of the Inspector General show Suzanne Laprise waving a handgun in the lobby of the Bristol police station, battering protective glass with the butt of the weapon and opening fire before getting tased and a swarm of officers took her into custody.

Laprise, a Plainville resident and former state employee, is being held on $1 million bond while she faces nine charges, including attempted murder, in connection with the incident Thursday night.

Connecticut Inspector General Robert Devlin on Tuesday released three videos and a preliminary report about the incident.

Laprise can be seen on the footage in the lobby of the Bristol Police Department slamming a handgun several times on the glass separating police and records staff from the public area before she fired at least four shots, one video shows.

She appears to be smoking a cigarette as she paced the lobby while stopping to knock the handgun more than a dozen times into the glass, the video shows. After a few minutes, Laprise fired two shots into the glass of a side door and then fired one shot into each of the two large windows where the public can conduct business with officers, the videos show. The flash from the bullets exiting the barrel of the gun can be seen in the footage.
