In the Easter gospel...why is Andrew’s name redacted?

In the Easter gospel (don’t remember which book/verse in the NT exactly) when Mary Magdalene and Simon Peter discover the empty tomb, why does the Bible mention “the other disciple whom Jesus loved”? It’s Andrew who’s Peter’s brother but it seems really weird that his name is redacted.

We don't like to talk about Andrew. OK?

Trump needs to declassify the New Testament.

I think the other disciple whom Jesus loved was John.

I don’t remember if this particular situation is because of this, but the literature about the backstory behind the gospels is fascinating. In short, different sects in the early church were rather antagonistic towards one another and tended to deemphasize the namesakes of the version of the gospel their “opponents” preferred. I’ve read authors who believe the story of Doubting Thomas was fabricated from whole cloth in order to discredit the sect following the gospel of Thomas.

I bet this thread doesn't get whacked like mine did.

I always thought it was John too

Because they were trying to hide the fact that that disciple was Jesus’s brother.

It isn't Andrew, it's John. My understanding is that, when recounting things via written word, referring to oneself in the third person and not by name was a common thing in the time that the Gospel of John was written.
It is John, not Andrew.

It was John and because he was the author he didn’t want to seem arrogant to readers.

John just wanting to let everyone know Jesus loved him

Anchored...basically the same thing

Because it involved an ongoing investigation with Wikileaks

This.
In Judea 2000 years ago, using the first person was considered pompous. Almost the opposite of today where if you're full of yourself, you refer to yourself in the third person.

What's that?

Thank you. Correct. Andrew was the bringer but the one referred to as the one Jesus loved is John.

So Jesus doesn't love me?

It was John.
He also writes that they both ran to the tomb but he beat Simon Peter there.
A little shout out to himself for being faster.
