Sometimes.

Oh, and how many posts before the switcharoo?

No. I'm like the least a-hole person alive, so I would fail miserably if I did.

No, some of the people who work here do it for fun though.

No. Instead, I have to put up with a-holes.

I am nice to people until they start acting like an a-hole. I then have the luxury of being an a-hole back because at the end of the day, they need me much more than I need them.

The work I do requires me to review people's work. If I return the work with marks, they get knocked on their performance review.
While I try to make it all work, I have to follow the rules. They should do it right the first time. So yes, I'm an a-hole, sometimes.

Absolutely. I had a former position where a mjority of it was to get under people's skin and push them to crack in pressure situations. If they couldn't handle it, they could be fired. And you didn't feel good about yourself. But you did it knowing it was in their best interest and public interest.

My position right now doesn't call for me to be an "a-hole." But I absolutely have to keep on people's asses. Too many moving parts not to. Very quick conversation of "this is what I'm doing, what are you doing? Do xyz instead." Kinda blunt

Age doesn't matter, that job automatically comes with the label. Been there, done that. Be true to the rules and know that you may have saved someone's life, even if it can't be proven.

Never.

My clients are often surprised by my patience. I wish that I could figure out how to extend this practice to the rest of my life.
