I had my hand almost crushed by a 93 year old at a funeral, he worked on oil rigs most of his life.

Walk into your office then walk up to your boss, man hopefully, punch them in the nose. If they fall immediately then you have earned "Old man Strength". Hopefully you have gained this level up because you will need it in jail.

I don’t think you can have old man strength if you’ve never had any strength at all.

Old man strength is pretty much your ‘ain’t as good as I once was, but I’m as good once, as I ever was’.

Grip strength increases with age. I see it in strength sports a lot. Guys can’t squats or bench as much as they used to, but put them on a Hercules hold, and they dominate. Marcus Felix is in his 50s. No body out grips him.

Old man strength happened to me at around 25-28...

25-28? What? Baw got no grey in his beard at 28. Might have just been puberty.

“Old Man Strength” comes from actually doing manual, busting arse labor for 40 years and looking like a normal person.

But in all actuality, that person has the strength of 1 paper pusher a year so the strength of 40 people like yourself.

You don’t get it, it’s earned.

Saw this happen to one of my cousins many years ago. He was a teen and full of himself and from a large family with 10 kids----7 boys and 3 girls.

One day he got up in his dad's face and challenged him to a fight and his dad obliged. They had boxing gloves at the house for such events since the boys were always wanting to fight with each other.

My uncle put on the left glove and put his right hand behind his back and didn't use it. My cousin put on both gloves and in about 4 punches it was all over with my cousin suffering a broken nose that resulted in 2 black eyes for his troubles.

He never challenged his dad again.

I'm a small frame guy. Pretty much a paper pusher at work, so not much physical activity inside and out of work.

You aint there yet. Avergae lifespan for males in the US is about 78. You break that down into 3 categories

0-26 = youth (thats why you can still be on your parents insurance at 26)
27-52 = middle age (39 would be the actual middle of you life)
53-78 = old age (no penalty for retirement begins at 59.5 years)

I'm 42, 6'1 195. My nephew is 17 and plays safety for his high school football team. He's 6'2 180 and works out every day. I don't work out. He challenged me to a wrestling match. I put him on his arse the entire time. I don't even wrestle.

He then challenged me to a race. I told him to frick off with that.

I don't know about this.

I can tell you about "old man knees that click sometimes" and "old man acid reflux".
