You send your kids to LCA to play sports, academics are terrible
I don't think college admissions care if you had a 4.0 from LCA, STM or Oberlin High School.

They do, along with standardized test scoring and other things.

The two smartest people I personally know both went to Crowley High. One went to LSU and is an aeronautical engineer and the other went to Tulane and is a doctor. I don't believe that it would have made any difference if they went to Notre Dame High School instead.

Money is no worry. Where you going for your kids sake?
EDIT - K-6 or K-8
Episcopal, no doubt.

Wow. That is impressive. One kid went to LSU, and the other went to Tulane.
Like I said, standardized testing and other things matter.

I prefer a state where you pay for great private schools with low property taxes. Your kids are in school with people who care and when they graduate still low property taxes. There is NO SUCH thing as a good government school. I know 6 kids that went to public school in Texas and 5 of the six are total freaks The catholic school kids of New Orleans are head and shoulders over government school kids.

Sure it does. A 3.6 GPA and an ACT score of 30 from STM goes a lot further than a 4.0 and an ACT score of 35 from LCA.

Northshore:
If you want the kids to get a Catholic education, either Our Lady of the Lake, Mary Queen of Peace, or St. Peters. I can only speak for OLL, but the community feel is amazing. Also, the parents raise a lot of money for the school. After the shooting in Uvalde, the administation hired a full time police detail daily. At first it was weird, but now its great.
More expensive options include Northlake Christian and Christ Episcopal. Although I did not like the vibe of Christ, I know several people who love it.
Cedarwood is a private school without religion, if that matters to you. My wife went there, but one of her good friends who also went there and loved the school pulled them out and sent them to Christ.
More affluent families go to Christ or Northlake. The catholic schools are a mix of all incomes.
I know someone who only knew public school, had issues with his kids at public school, and sent them to Northlake. He is amazed by the difference and the community feel. He jokes about how surreal it is.
High school SSA, Hannan, and St Pauls.
Awesome schools are on the southshore too.

my two are at Ascension Episcopal in lafayette. in hindsight i'd consider going the catholic route since its cheaper.
Considering moving our 3 to Ascension rather than going the STM route.
You have regrets?

If you live on the Northshore (Mandeville) and you live in the Mandeville HS or Fontainebleau HS districts, you are better off sending your children there than St Paul’s or SSA. The level of education is better in those public high schools than St Paul’s or SSA.

Newman?
Also not a private school.
Private schools aren’t the same as religious based schools.
Parochial school is the word you are looking for here. As for the best, just google which one rapes the least amount of kids each year.
Parochial schools are private schools, just with a religious affiliation.
Newman has no religious affiliation, so is not a parochial school.
In New Orleans Metro, there are 5 schools that are considered private.
*Country Day
*McGhee
*Newman
Above are not religiously affiliated.
*St Martins is affiliated with the Episcopal Church, but not an emphasis.
*Sacred Heart is Catholic School, but doesn’t really answer to the Arch Diocese.
It is no coincidence that all the above are mid 20’s in tuition.
