In downtown Nashville right now, a guy is standing on the interstate

sign over I-65 and has the interstate shut down in both directions. Been there since 3:30pm.

Local news on all three channels are covering it live. They said roads are a mess. It's at Rosa Parks BLVD. News just said guy is now in the bucket they sent up.

Years back some activists (PETA I think) climbed up in the superstructure of the MRB and hung signs from it and then chained themselves to the bridge. They of course did this right at rush hour.
Police shut down the bridge and basically fricked up traffic in south LA. I never understood why they didn't just let them stay up there and let traffic flow. Deal with them in the middle of the night.
They sent a negotiator up there and he kept giving them cigarettes. We were on the side of the road with a police sergeant listening in on the police radio when someone transmitted that the negotiator was trying to kill them with cancer to get them off the bridge.
