I don’t see that, at least not in years. In LA the restaurants have it on the menu if it’s imported.

I don't think those fellas were ever making a killing. It's not a level playing field.

Their use of frozen seafood imported from out of the country makes it a 100% no go for me.

Who thought Red Lobster was using fresh domestic seafood??

I take it this is just lobsters that are red in color and not the restaurant itself?

Oh, there's lying going on... I mentioned earlier ITT that of Charleston restaurants advertising or claiming local shrimp, 90% were using imported shrimp. Made the news and everything- I wanna say months ago the gulf coast had a similar issue making the news.

Wait staff gonna love all these high tippers that will complain that their $5 drinks don’t have enough alcohol in them. Run up a $100 tab and tip $1. RL will become even trashier in very short order.

Are the laws against this enforced?

Not nearly enough, but Mary Mahoney's was just hit with a pretty hefty ($4+MM) fine for mislabeling their seafood.

Apparently like 90% of Charleston's "local" shrimp was found to be foreign caught... I don't think many people stopped eating the shrimp.

Prawn Fraud is widespread.

There’s some rumors I’ve heard in the restaurant world that RFK jr is going to outright ban a lot of imported seafood and farmed fish

For selfish reasons I hope he does

So a young black guy is the CEO at Red Lobster?

Huh. Who would have thunk it?
