With AI someone is either gonna be rich or poor. Up to you to make the right decisions and choices to be on the rich side.

No it's a straw man because you are saying people are making an argument that no one is making, which is the definition of a straw man argument

No. You're avoiding the actual discussion by focusing on strawman arguments
sigh...just because you can't refute a point, doesn't make it strawman. Idiot.

$100B sounds like a lot, until you realize the Covid spending in 2020 alone was over $2.6T. I almost put "around $2.5T" until I realized the difference in my two figures accounted for basically the max you could blame on gas price increases.
Rather odd statement. You don't really understand how energy prices affect the economy, do you?
quote:
And you have to account for the % of that $100B attributed to Biden alone. Same with illegals (total net something like $100-150B).
Again, you need to show your gorilla math here. 20 million (some estimates are up to 30 million) illegals and you are landing on $100 Bilion is the cost? You are treating this like it's a fixed cost per capita. There are direct costs, upstream and downstream costs to this, and energy and supply chain.. Are you aware of that?
And if we want to add another large driver, we can add healthcare. I'm assuming Obamacare you will somehow blame on Trump too, right?
quote:
Not in 2020-2024, the time frame we are discussing.
Well no shite, he wasn't in office. I asked you before, what energy policy of Trump's did Biden cancel day 1 of his administration. What border policies did the Biden admin implement during this time frame?
It physically hurts you to say this, but you do know, deep down, that Trump is right.
Biden spent and shrunk the economy.
Trump spent and grew the economy. He did it when he took office in 2016 (again, magic pen). He is doing it now his first 9 months in office. and i'll say it like i said it in 2019. The only way the Republicans do not win in 2028, is if some major event collapses the economy (cue covid in 2020).
You know all of this, your TDS won't let you admit it.
I'll say again, for the 3rd time, and it's undeniable.
Biden spent, and shrunk the economy.
Trump spent, and grew/is growing the economy.

When 80% of the poli board couldnt understand who actually pays for tariffs we shouldn't really be surprised.
Who pays for tariffs? Re-shore manufacturing to the USA and there won’t BE any tariffs :).
You may go now.

Exactly the type of guy I don't want working on my house. Spends too much time and money on wrapping a vehicle and getting shirts printed instead of doing real work. Give me an old guy in a white crew cab and a T-shirt instead. Prices will be better, and the work will be quality.

Same with me. The nicer the truck, the less I want to do business with you. Someone has to pay for that brand new F-250 Platinum you pulled up in. That someone is me and you gotta frick me over to make it happen.

Manufacturing jobs are down since we instituted the tariffs. Exports are way down which means layoffs.
We're gonna bail out farmers for billions due to all their unsold crops due to the tariff war.
They have been a failure in every way.
A lesson we learned almost a hundred years ago.

Which mfg do you want to "reshore?"
Do you really want more $15/hour assembly line jobs? We have those we cant fill.

shite's been expensive because of inflation. Four years of it will do that. As I understand, people haven't been firing, but they haven't been hiring.
Good news is interest rates have dropped. China signed some tariff relief, and Japan too, recently. Now that NVIDIA has showed profit sustainability, that should quell market uncertainty.
Can't imagine more investment generally isn't coming as a result.

From the first of 2006 through about fall of 2006 I went from bidding $3- $5 million worth of work a month against 3-4 other contractors to bidding around $1 million a month against 20-30 contractors. Luckily I had a second, related business, that was booming and had a buyer interested in it but I would not sell unless he bought both of them...he did and we finalized the deal in February 2007. By mid 2008 about half the contractors I had been competing with were out of business. I was luckier than a 2 dicked dawg. The buyer more or less liquidated the primary business but later sold the second one to a major competitor in the region. I was happy to have gotten out just in time but the buyer made out like a bandit and good for him...he certainly saved my arse.
