Go upstairs to my bedroom, lock the door.

If everybody is looking for you, the least likely place for anybody to look would be the most obvious place you could be.

I think the cops would find a way in there to kill you if you're in a house. If you're in an enclosed vault with a dead man's trigger, I don't know how they could feasibly break in without you immediately killing everyon

What do you just have explosive vests and "dead man's triggers" lying around that you can access and then gain entry into a bank vault with? And if the stakes are high enough, they may just kill you and accept the collateral damage of a dozen hostages.

You lose they saw you. This is a magical universe where everyone is hardwired to know when you are found

Yeah I think the random grandmas home attic is the winner. Get as far as you can on bike and then camp out in the attic.

I like that, the risk of getting caught sneaking in is huge though.

If you pulled it off, its the perfect place because they wouldn't know you're there and would seem honest when they tell authorities you're not there.

Side story: 3 girls I was friends with at Ole Miss had a homeless dude squat in their attic in college for weeks. One day they were watching TV, heard a loud noise and a moan, then a man came running from upstairs with a limp out the front door right past them in the living room.

He had blankets and canned goods up there. He slipped in between the studs on the ground and ripped his leg up pretty good. They arrested him at a hospital where he went for treatment.

I'd just have to figure out a way to lose my scent so dogs couldn't track me

So would the best possible option be dress in complete Scent Blocking technology before embarking on whatever destination you pick? How well does that stuff work?

You could lay low for the hour or so it would take for them to check it and then go in.

My point exactly. Searching in the countless miles of swampland around here isnt as easy as some think.

So what, you're waiting it out in your kids bedroom? Your house would be surrounded by surveillance and media

Hitchhiker would know where he dropped you off. Not difficult finding you from there.

Pack duffel bag full of basic supplies and water. Ditch car by bridge, hitchhike to Whiskey Bay exit, go into Atchafalaya Basin and live for 5 days in the woods. There are tons of empty hunting camps all over, plus deer stands, and abundance of food and resources. Am I missing something here? Seems like 5 days would be easy.

yeah, you can't do that in less than an hour

1. It's not countless miles of swamp. You have an hour head start.

2. You're underestimating helicopters.

3. This isn't Livingston Parish PD looking for you. We're talking CIA, FBI, military, etc.

The cave idea was probably the best. Especially if it was hard to get to with tight squeezes.

I would go beyond that and look for an underwater, fresh water cave. Who would look there?

You really think the game warden isn't going to be checking all of them and have helicopters looking for heat signatures in the biggest man hunt in history? Plus I'm liable to bet that it will take a while to get a ride by hitch hiking, and at best the guy who picked you up and let you off would recognize you later and they'll know roughly where you are. You'd be dead within the night.
