This. frick Ukraine, they are completely corrupt.

Before the war, Z was banning and imprisoning political opposition, Ukraine was by far the world's largest producer of child porn and weird shite like that, and most importantly, we have no commitments to them whatsoever except for the compromised Biden family.

We are proxy-warring directly against a superpower, and the risk is far greater than any possible reward.

Eastern Ukraine is lost and Zelensky should sue for peace along those new borders. Our meddling is only prolonging the inevitable.

Brandon must have failed simple arithmetic.

There is no longer a concept of I have a dollar and only a dollar to spend. No more.

It's hard to remember that the state of Virginia used to limit spending on highways to the amount of money that came into the department each year determined the budget for the next year.

imagine the federal government using less than 10% of the defense budget to destroy 60% of the conventional military capability of our 2nd biggest political foe (#1 historically) all while not spilling a drop of american blood

how fricking dare they!!!

if it was a republican was in office you would be talking about how awesome of a job they were doing, but because you hate the guy in the whitehouse(i do too) you decide it must be terrible.

what is the risk? i can tell you the risk of russia winning is that they are emboldened and will continue to try and recapture territory

the reward is simply a weak arse russia which is good in everyway for the US.

The American war machine thanks you for your continued support.

some of us have a better understanding than you do

we may agree on 90% of things...but the hate for this proxy war is 99% fueled by partison politics....period

and the spending on this war is peanuts compared to the covid bailouts and all of the other this the dems spent 2021/2022 and what trump spent in 2020. that spending is the reason for inflation

People, and nations as large as the US, can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time. The budget is big, pays for many things and trying to link spending in one area to lack of spending in another, especially in this case, is kind of stupid.

It’s actually not stupid at all. Our budget may be big but we borrow constantly to afford it. Prices are going up because of this.

So not having a job, and watching the government that you paid taxes to (and your employer paid taxes on your behalf specifically to soften wage interruption) drive up costs by spending money that has little to no effect on your well being is a pretty appropriate moment to say “this isn’t right”

Unemployment benefits shouldn't be affected one way or another buy sending weapons to other countries.

Is that all we're sending to Ukraine? Your answer to that might be a clue as to why taxpayers get worked up about Ukraine

Democrats fail to realize its Kennedynomics, not Reaganomics.

Of course, you'd have to criticize your royalty.

Every single person who has EVER collected unemployment is a Socialist loser. They are failures in a capitalist free market system. These are the bottom of the barrel.

I am thrilled that my tax dollars are going to killing Russians, and crippling their military, without risking any American lives. This is wonderful.

It is not a surprise to me that the people who love Putin are also the people who want free unemployment money without having to work. Pathetic.

Every major population center in the Pacific Northwest, outside of maybe Anchorage, Alaska (maybe), has been that way for over 2 decades at least. It is a spectacularly beautiful country up there, though.

https://www.cfr.org/article/how-much-aid-has-us-sent-ukraine-here-are-six-charts
quote:

Every year, the United States sends billions of dollars in aid—and much more than any other country—to beneficiaries around the world in pursuit of its security, economic, and humanitarian interests.

Heading into 2022, U.S. foreign assistance was driven by various priorities of the Biden administration, including combating climate change, responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, and countering authoritarianism. But since Russia’s invasion in February, Ukraine has become far and away the top recipient of U.S. foreign aid. It’s the first time that a European country has held the top spot since the Harry S. Truman administration directed vast sums into rebuilding the continent through the Marshall Plan after World War II.

In 2022, the Biden administration and the U.S. Congress have directed nearly $50 billion in assistance to Ukraine, which includes humanitarian, financial, and military support, according to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, a German research institute. The historic sums are helping a broad set of Ukrainian people and institutions, including refugees, law enforcement, and independent radio broadcasters, though most of the aid has been military-related. Dozens of other countries, including most members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the European Union, are also providing large aid packages to Ukraine.
