Charlie Kirk's killer used a Mauser Model 98 30-06 sporterized version.
The ICE shooter looks to have used a Mauser Kar98 which is just the shorter, carbine Model 98.
Both are pretty much the same rifle (G98 and K98 respectively) designed to shoot 8mm Mauser rounds. A lot of the G98's were either converted (or "sporterized) to shoot 30-06 for hunters. The Kar98 is just

We are pretty certain of at least one intended target, himself. If he did indeed kill himself, and it certainly seems like he did, he was most likely crazier than a shite house rat. If that is the case this shooting is categorically one that is directly and irrefutably a mental health issue. It is the height of irresponsibility to politicize what is about a clear a case of a mental health issue, in this one case only, as irresponsible gets.

Suicide doesn’t magically erase motive. People blow their brains out after crimes for all sorts of reasons: shame, fear, attention, political statement, etc. This is just a lazy attempt at deflecting.
