Password security rules are horse shite. Most every website has been hacked once and your personal information has already been stolen (if the website owner didn't SELL your info first).

Pick 4 numbers and a special character, say @. 19Tigerdroppings57@ 19Amazon57@ 19Hotmail57@ 19Ashleymadison57@

This works great until you get one of those that makes you change passwords every 3 months and it has to be different then the last 8 passwords.

Lots of good suggestions already posted so I won’t give any more advice on ways to create passwords.

Just remember to take it one day at a time and what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger. When you come out of this difficult period, you will be stronger and better equipped to help others and then we have a better world!

God is good

4 digit birth year, name or nickname of family member or pet, two special symbols

Except all the password and security experts say you should never use any part of your birthday or a pet's name. Ever.

Like Bestbank said....use a mnemonic for a meaningful term or phrase for you...use substitution of numbers or special characters for some letters...mix caps and lowers...

should also try to avoid dictionary words...

P1iHb0&0

Put It In His/Her Butt Over And Over....and you can then double it if needed for longer passwords and also add another number or symbol at end for when it needs to be changed...

iPhones save and remember passwords.
Very rarely do you need to type it out.

Let’s ban all passwords. This should help.

Once you learn mnemonics you'll never have an issue with password.

The worst is when you have to use forgot password. When I enter the new password it tells me that I can’t use the same password as the old one. Well why the frick isn’t the old password working if it recognizes it as being the password when I enter it??

And BTW, how secure is the intricate ‘have to use 9 characters with alpha numeric specials and they can never repeat’ if everyone has to write the passwords down to remember any of them?

I’m cynical of this tech religion

That's no longer the recommendations of NIST. NIST now recommends long pass phrases instead of traditional passwords with complexity requirements, and not changing passwords unless evidence of compromise exists. Something like "horse steering techno flicker" is infinitely harder to crack than something like "R4E5nAmP".

Just use a word you can remember, followed by a 4 digit number. Every time it asks you to change your password, just go up by one number. Ex Blowme1965 would change to Blowme1966. I've been doing this for years and never have trouble remembering passwords. If a special character is required, it would be Blowme@1965.

I appreciate that my bank wants to keep my info secure, but I don't see why random internet messageboard #762 needs to have a 12 digit PW with one capital letter, a number, and a special character.

Or when I finally remember them and another site requires me to use 10 characters or you must change your password every month and you can't use one you've used in the last 24 months.
