How pissed would you be if Apple used your voice for Siri and didn’t pay you a dime?

LINK
quote:

"I didn't know it was the Siri gig; I didn't realize anyone was auditioning me for it. I found out I was Siri when Siri launched. A fellow voice actor emailed me and said, 'We're playing around with this new iPhone; isn't this you?' And I was just like, 'What?'"

quote:

But the biggest issue was money. Susan had no contract with Apple, and that means she hasn't seen a dime beyond what she was paid for her initial IVR gig, despite being a key part of one of Apple's big selling points: "There were Siris all over the world because, for instance, I don't speak Thai or Japanese. They had to have native speakers. And all of the original Siris weren't paid for the usage. We were paid for the original recording sessions, but we weren't paid for being on all those phones. Which is a pretty big issue for us. I know there was one person who ended up getting fired from another job because he was working for a company that considered Apple a competitor. His voice was on the iPhone, and he lost a job because of it."

So she was paid for her services but wants a lot more now that she realized it was Apple?

Sounds like did when:

What, does she want royalties for every single iPhone and computer in production?

She provides a valuable service. The corporation does not give her all the details and does not compensate her for what her worth is to the product.

So she got paid for the gig but is upset she didn’t get more money out of it because Apple was the company that ultimately commissioned the work? I can’t say I feel sorry for her.

I use voice over actors from time to time. I pay them for the time to record what I ask them to record. That's all they get. What am I missing here?

That's all you deserve you greedy moron.

I don't understand why she thinks she deserves more? She didn't do anything other than record her voice and she was paid for that.

She was paid based upon the contract that she signed where she agreed to a certain amount of work for a certain amount of pay. If you were paid an amount equal to the value that you bring to your employer, then what is the point of hiring you in the first place if they lose all of the benefit of having you just for the sake of paying you. We are all paid less than the value we bring. The difference is the reason the employer hires you.

To go back and want more than you contractually agreed to because you figured out that somebody else was smart enough to use your talents better than you can is a completely liberal, fricktard, ideology.

More money.

The only reason this dumbass article exists is because the voice actor wants more money for no reason.

Apple lied about what her talent would be used for to avoid paying her a fair wage. They deceived and should be held liable to compensate fairly. Any other view shows how backwards, evil, and duplicitous the republican ideology is.
