NCAA is a volunteer org and i didnt feel like it was a monopoly. Kids could go play in canada or start their own league so i dont like the courts telling the NCAA what to do
7:30 am, i likely won’t read a dumber comment today

when you add alll that up its worth over 100k a year......well if that aint enough
Im many cases it’s not enough, by orders of magnitude. Just another logical inconsistency of this board
CAPITALISM, CAPITALISM, CAPITALISM (except with college athletes because I liked the game better when they couldn’t get their market value)

100% for it. NCAA is a vol org that schools can join if they want to, people choose to go to those schools
nobody is forced
those schools should be able to come together and determine if they want to pay more and let the market sort it out as far as another league starting
its anti freedom and anti capitalism
but now that the courts have opened it up....let it be, let the market decide
but if we are going to do this....then truely let the market decide. get rid of title 9. straight up, the teams that bring in money get a % of that. only those teams

Is Title IX capitalism and free market?
Oh never mind, I didn’t read all the way to the bottom

NIL and the transfer portal have ruined college sports in less than 4 years.
Young parents are terrible parents, so their kids are perks and unable to participate in society.

no if we are going to force a private org to change their rules...fine let them get whatever they can to max profit
frick em because they are suing to force the private org to change their rules instead of starting their own private org.

I hate the current college football season as constructed
Right now, for all intents and purposes, college football is operating under a system of unrestricted free agency with no salary cap. It’s unsustainable and is eventually going to begin hurting the brand.

no i agree
if we are going to force the private company to change their rules
should not tell them how much they can pay or how much they have to or who they have to pay
if we are going to have gov over reach...fine...allow them to be paid, but cancel all the other rules

Yes. I personally care more about the enjoyment of college sports than I do about the athletes well being and bank account.

You’re acting as if this is unique
But you’re stupid so I’m not surprised

If I had a dollar for every time I’ve read these two words on TD, LSU wouldn’t have been outbid for Bryce Underwood.

yea thats it...im so dumb for having a different opinion than you
is your contention that the court didnt tell a vol private org what they could and couldnt do as far as rules go?
why dont you go back to telling everyone how in shape you are and how bad arse you are....all 160 lbs with 15% bodyfat

They were breaking anti-trust laws dipshit
Private companies get told what to do by the courts everyday in this country if they are breaking laws

and my belief is they were not breaking anti trust laws because they could easily go play in other leagues or start their own.
you claim to be for capitalism but then you dont want to let the markets sort it out.
and anti trust laws are kind of stupid, let the market determine.

It’s athletic competition with voluntary participation. Capitalism is not relevant to the situation.
