As the saying goes: The problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other people's money.

There are some reports that already show that we are technically a socialistic society, because less than half of working aged adults actually put money into the pot, while over half put $0 while taking something out.

When?

I've been hearing that my entire life and so have my parents. If it wasn't communism, it was communism lite (socialism).

All the while americans continue to thrive in the most capitalistic country in the world.

Let us all know when it gets here.

translates to "rich white non-liberal people bad"

Rappers, athletes, and actors can be rich, but they are generally not portrayed as bad.

Let's list the things that this socialist thinks is bad:

- attractive people
- nice furniture
- wall-mounted TV
- cleanliness
- good pay

These are the things that socialism will get rid of for everyone!

The us will soon fracture off into individual states l consisting of the free democracies built on capitalism and freedom. The others build on socialism. Will only be a matter of time before the socialist countries will be using violence

The couches are all sectionals in muted tones with one elegant blanket thrown just so. There is a trio of incomprehensible remotes on an ottoman or side table to control a large, wall-mounted screen (which has, of course, all the cable channels and usually HBO, too).

frick, I have all that and I am not rich by any stretch of the word. It is called budgeting. You can have all that by not doing things like not eating out for lunch every day, or not buying a coffee on the way in to work because you made your own, or not getting uber eats / waitr 3 times a week, or not buying new clothes every month, or not going out every single weekend.

It is easy to not do stuff. Coupling that with actually doing stuff that earns money, and poof! You have extra money for luxuries. Even if you do nothing extra and just stop doing needless shite that costs money, you can save. I hate shite like this. It tells people that successful people are bad, as if a nice home and disposable income are shameful.

Yes, the article says "1 percent" but it sounds like it's just some Manhattan yuppies that she babysits for.

People like this don't know how to judge wealth, and everyone else is rich and the "1 percent"

The 1% has a live in nanny and doesn't call for a babysitter.

Envy of success is a cancer on this country. Whether its the 1%, or people that do alright with six figure incomes in the South, its a cancer.

My youngest daughter had a sleepover recently. One of the girls referred to my daughter as "rich" in a disparaging way because of some item that she had. We are not "rich." We do alright and live in an affluent area mixed with wealth and those that do just enough to pay the credit card bill every month.

Absolutely. The economically illiterate actually think other people's wealth means they will not get their share.

Politicians and social engineers who have never stepped foot outside a college classroom feed this cancer
