None of this is any big deal. There is no such thing as love. It's all a function of brain cell wiring. Love, happiness, hope.... it's all an illusion. There is no such thing as fate, nor any higher purpose that requires him not to walk away.

I know it. But she was crying.
Bc he won't let her move in.

Idk what crawled up your arse and died this morning, but I usually like you because you're not straight up rude. We can agree to disagree but you don't have to be a dick about it.

So many jilted and jaded lovers in this thread.

I wasn't trying to be a dick. Honest. I was just going along with your job analogy.
The "no shite" was meant in general terms. No offense intended. I generally like you too.

Oh wow. It happens so often. It's a big joke to a lot of men. And they say women are looking to be taken care of and blow it off. But, the truth is, for a large majority of straight women, getting married and having a family is a dream from early childhood. Not all, of course. It's not something you can make happen like a career. You have to meet the right person that has the same goals and values as you. If it doesn't happen or if you waste your time with the wrong one, you can lose out on something you've always wanted. Being a wife and mother is not the ultimate career goal for many women, but it is often equal to what they want for their career. Like it or not, being single or married or a mother/father or whatever is part of your identity. If you want to be what you are not, you end up feeling unfulfilled.

This situation is evidence why if a girl really wants marriage she should 1) Not have sex before marriage and 2) Should never move in with a guy she is dating *not saying this is the only way but it is the best way
You think OP would have led her on for 10 years if she was not giving him regular sex?
OP is a coward and anything but a man. Where are real men nowadays that keep their promises? Women are just as much to blame because they don't demand men to act like men any more. They are content with girly men who can talk the right game and can tell them what they want to hear instead of treating them right.
OP must have had some doubts when he asked this girl to marry him but he was too much of a coward to be real with this girl because he knew he always had the option to bail out if he needed to.
If someone did this to either of my sisters I would kick their arse.

I totally think you should live together before you marry. You learn the most about a person by living with them. Unless you're both super religious, there's no reason not to have sex or live together. A guy not wanting to move into together after so many years is a huge red flag. Unless he's religious.

Actually, that's part of the problem here. She didn't move in with him.

Yeah they're into pussies with actual college degrees who wear silk suits all day and don't turn wrenches for a living.

See this is where you're wrong. It's a lot easier to find a new roommate and girlfriend if it doesn't work out then it is to find a new house and a divorce attorney if it doesn't work out.

Yeah, sounds like somebody strikes out a lot with girls who prefer educated men.
