If it was played anywhere else other than LSU home games, you’d have 200 upvotes but because it is, they want to sit on the fence about it.
Fact of the matter is the song is trashy and the state is trashy. They literally celebrate murder, STDs, teen pregnancy, drugs, etc.

It definitely paints Louisiana in a bad light, but it is (or was) a popular song with a...certain subset of the population. And people tend to follow whatever is popular so that they appear to have socially acceptable opinions about things.
10-15 years ago I saw 40 year old "wholesome" women dancing and singing along to AW SKEET SKEET MOTHERfrickER and SUPERMAN DAT HOE - oblivious to what those lyrics actually meant, they were just going along with the crowd.

Yes, the whole entire state celebrates all of the things you listed.
It is literally a hype song in which only part of the song is played in the stadium... Because Well.. Sort of like the reason they play Calling Baton Rouge. It fits.
But the song itself.. there are a million other songs that says the same bullshite. Its about the beat and the fact that it says "Im from Louisiana"
