Left Nola for San Diego in march. Couldn't be happier.

People who live in NO have to ignore a lot of shite to pretend that it's a nice place.

Many people refuse to be honest about it because it would be an indictment of their living conditions and choices in life.

I also love the "oh yeah, where do you live" take. Because if I said Mogadishu, that would make New Orleans a nicer place.

You just like the donkey shows down in Tijuana. Admit it.

Also, in Tijuana, there is the Tijuana Institute of Technology. Yep. TIT.

I used to really enjoy visiting family in New Orleans. You don't have to twist my arm or drag me down there, but I'd willfully suggest going somewhere else or meeting my family elsewhere.

I feel like I have done and seen it all. The college-aged me loved it. Now, it just doesn't appeal to me anymore.

1. French Quarter and Uptown/Magazine Street
2. Saints games
3. Nardi Gras and Jazz Fest
4. French Quarter Fest
5. Halloween/Voodoo Fest
6. St. Patrick's Day

I'm just kind of done with it. There are plenty of other places I'd rather see and go.

I was recently in Denver too, its probably the most overrated city in the country at the moment.

Denver is just a bland city. Nothing really exciting.

That's pretty subjective.

What was Denver 20, 30 years ago? What's Denver known for?

I'm always amazed at the number of people on here who constantly bash New Orleans and then stick up for cities like Alexandria and Shreveport.

I'm convinced that most of you want nothing to do other than eat at Outback, fish/hunt, and get married at age 19 after impregnating your high school sweethearts.

New Orleans has PLENTY of problems, but my family lives there and loves it. I recently took a week long vacation back and loved it. Great food. Fun people. Lots of entertainment.

I never felt in danger once and went out all over the place. My family has never been burglarized or targeted.

A lot of the same things that suck about New Orleans are true of other large liberal cities.

Stop whining.

A clean city that actually has 4 seasons, unlimited year round outdoor activities less than an hour away, a world class airport, all 3 professional sports, top tier white and blue collar jobs, well built roads and bridges and relatively minimal crime.

I suppose none of that makes it exciting though.

If you think New Orleans qualifies as a large city you are mistaken.

That's the problem with that town, you are an medium-ish sized city with big city problems.

That can be said for a few cities in the same population range. Nola, Atlanta, Cleveland, Oakland and Miami are all in the same range and all deal with the same crime issues. Where Nola separates itself is their next level incompetent leadership. It could be a world class city if the morons here would stop electing these idiots that want nothing more than to hold some type of office so they can keep their hands out. That's not going to change with this next election cycle either.

You basically described Wisconsin, where I grew up, and nobody is clamoring to live there.

ETA: I've lived in Green Bay, San Diego, Wilmington, and now New Orleans and outside of outdoor activities, none of those places compares to things to do on a regular basis (Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, FQ Fest). There is rarely a weekend where I'm bored in this city, unlike the previous cities I've lived.

The Pacific is cold as shite during most of the year, so without a wet suit you aren't surfing during the winter. You can ski in Big Bear, but I left the Midwest because of the snow. No festivals, shitty hipster music in LA, no fishing unless you have an offshore boat, terrible NFL/NBA team, and mediocre college teams. So how am I the problem when there is nothing to do during the winter?

ETA: And BR/NOLA thinks their mayor is bad, the previous San Diego major sexually harassed multiple women at an event to raise awareness for sexual assaults in the military. He literally slapped girls asses at an event full of women who were sexually assaulted!
