I’m assuming tomorrow we’ll find out that D-Day did more harm than good.

I’m actually intrigued as to how it’ll get spun. You know it’s coming.

These people fought real nazis

These people were part of a racist, segregated military

How racism in the military caused more deaths at Normandy than necessary.

I'm assuming we'll see lots of comparisons to Antifa fighting the nazis now.

Even though Antifa are the nazis.

If LeBron is done reading up on China maybe he'll start on WW2 for us.

I date the start of the modern PC movement to 1992, which should have been the commemoration of Columbus' 500th anniversary. Instead we got:

Goodbye Columbus Day, 1992

I don’t care. I’m showing my GF band of brothers for the first time in its honor.

Not the most uncommon sentiment here on TD either.

Who cares what they say. D-day prevented the Soviets from controlling all of Europe instead of just Western Europe. If the allies (excluding Russia) never invaded mainland Europe, it’s likely the Russians would have controlled much of Eastern Europe along with Western Europe. While D-Day didn’t turn the tide. (The battle of Stalingrad did that) It had a large impact on the Cold War and the current state of our world today. We should celebrate the heroic action taken by over 150K men who invaded the beaches of Normandy.

You have eastern and western Europe reversed.

Nice way to remember the brave soldiers who waded to their deaths to fight a narcissitic idiot leader who put himself above his people.
