I'm pretty familiar with the macros that I need to target for my diet (500 calories above maintenance; 1 gram of protein / pound of body weight; .35 grams of fat / pound of body weight; etc. However, I really don't know the types of foods and supplements that are optimal and affordable for such a diet. Any recommendations and tips are appreciated. Thanks.

It's important to still eat clean, if you want a good bulk and not just looking to get fat lol. Eat whole foods, quality meats.

Don't.

Just eat a frick ton of clean food and minimal simple carbs. Its a long process. Getting fat and cutting down isn't a shortcut to shredding; it's hitting the reset button every summer.

I used to do this yearly. Now I just try my best to stay lean give or take a few pounds during the holidays and consistently make progress throughout the year.

I can tell you it's much easier to just dirty bulk and cut in the spring. It's also much more fun

No sups, just eat whatever the hell gets you to your caloric goal. Count your carbs/fats/protein (macros) if you really want to be anal about it. Cleaner food will obviously give you slower (less fat storage) but better results size wize. I am not that clean, but I don't eat too bad.

In order to gain weight, one needs to eat at a caloric surplus. Once I get to my optimal weight, I'll just eat & workout at maintenance.

I'm looking for meals that are cheap, easy and quick to prepare, taste good, and don't get old after a while.

Get a crock pot and I'm not even kidding, it will change your life.

Or eat what you want and do a cycle with testosterone.

I am not bulking but actually trying to shed weight. Started by trying to keep carbs to 125 a day and very few at dinner and after. It is so difficult to find healthy meals so I am looking for ideas as well.

Go to Costco and get the whole turkey breast (not sliced) and the rotisserie chicken breast chopped up. Get egg whites at Costco in bulk. Get yellow mustard. Get cans of tuna and salsa. Get frozen bags of spinach and mixed peppers. Go to whole foods and get 95/5 ground beef along with a tad fattier buffalo. Get packs of boneless skinless chicken Breasts and brine them in sea salt. Also start taking amino acids - the big fricking horse pill ones (see Optimum Nutrition) and take 10 before you train. Take 10'Grams of Now Arginie powder before bed every night and CALM. Do not count veggies in your macros as carbs rather make a huge pot of white rice and refrigerate to allow for resistant starch.'Lise the rice for macros along with adding oatmeal and grade B molasses post workout. Backstrap molasses even better. Have fun and train smart and go heavy compound movements

If you were a real man you'd have a freezer full of deer meat this time of year. It's the ultimate food and there's endless options for cooking it

or you can eat chicken breasts like a beta baw

ETA: and turkey breasts, panera bread, and peanut butter
