Who is "Frank Gahy"?
Did you mean Frank Gehry?

I have a double garage, two 10' garage doors and one side is 50' deep.
My boat is behind my truck on the deep side, I can leave it hooked on the truck if I want. Sure makes it easy going fishing in the morning or returning home after a day of fishing.

Yes. Garages can add years to your vehicle's paint job (preventing weathering, especially if you have pecan trees near the house) as well as provide some level of security from people wanting to break into them, birds shitting on them, or critters getting up into them. Along with this, a decent garage also gives you more storage space, adds to your square footage (which increases your home value) and helps your resale value as the majority of buyers want some sort of shelter for their vehicles.

Where are you building the house?

I'm about to build a house with no garage
Why? Seriously, that doesn't even make sense.

In 6 months, you'll have a collection of seasonal decoration items, lawn mowers that won't work, furniture your wife found on sale, and cobwebs and leaves in the corners.

That doesn't work so great here in the sticks. Your vehicles are dirty 3 days after washing them. My 4 vehicles just get me from point A to point B and pull my boat, 5th wheel and trailers.
My sxs, 4 wheeler, boat, tractor and big zero turn are all under nice sheds or inside shop buildings, but my cars can sit outside. My log splitter even goes under a shed, but frick my trucks.
And I have 3 shop buildings full of nice tools and woodworking equipment. Plenty of storage space.
The last thing I care about is parking my vehicles inside, they all have full coverage and I don't sell them, I drive them until they're bound for the car crusher.

Build the garage, don’t park in it, and enjoy your nice workshop/gym/man cave.
Trashy. Build a separate man cave if you want that

Be a real man and make your man cave a badass woodworking shop with dust collection, nice tools and a recliner like I have. My woodworking shop is insulated, heated and cooled and is perfect for a man cave.
And lots of high test smoke.

I’ve built several… my advice to you… build your house knowing that at some point it will have to be sold. No garage… good luck.

Maybe.
My bro is trying to sell a $500k ish house RN… no garage.
Idk how many people who are spending that kind of money want to sacrifice a garage..

Gutsy move asking this on the OT where everyone has three car climate controlled garages at the minimum.
My neighborhood doesn’t have many garages but most houses have at least a carport.

You people detest them even more than do the rest of us humans.
Thought you’d commonly use that term.

It also allows for a whole bunch more storage space.
Using your garage as a self storage unit is trashy

Build a house with a 7% interest rate? Ouch!
