Three different companies in two different fields(telecommunications and oilfield) I have worked my way up into management only to be laid off soon afterwards. It doesn't pay to have loyalty and a hard working philosophy.

Kids, kiss arse and stab whoever you have to in the back to move up.

Do you know what it is really like to be poor?

Have you ever purposely skipped meals because you couldn't make your rent/mortgage?

How many assets have you kissed moving up to management? Any of those ads kisses could be construed as stabbings to other co workers?

Have you saved any of that big money you made for hard times?

Volatile industries with brother in law instincts.

The Oilfield is the worst, a bunch of uneducated rednecks making 100K a year and cutting everyone's throat.

Then they get laid off for 3 months and are broke.

Dedicate 4 years to school and get an Engineering, Accounting, Finance Etc Etc Degree

I have definitely skipped meals to make sure my kids have enough. I have always made rent/mortgage but in a mo the it may not happen.
