There is absolutely no point to this and it's stupid. If you have the hospital capacity to handle an uptick in cases, then there is zero point in keeping people home. All states have had opportunity to analyze their need and do something about it. Keeping people at home will not make the virus go away.

IL, the cases are still growing. They were a late bloomer.

Friend of mine who lives in IL would think most of the Poli Board residents are super liberal... curious to see what he thinks of this. Every night he posts that this is a fake disease.

It's insanity no doubt

I think governor douche is trying to stress the IL pension system to failure so that the only move the Feds have is to bail his fat arse out.

FYI: the mayor of Chicago is another world class idiot

Honestly, some of these governors simply aren't capable of this level of thinking.

If you listen to Trumps daily briefings, he tries not to call out the governors, but because of his style, he eventually brings up examples where the governors simply have no idea how to get things done.

The example that's always used is the testing. The federal government had to basically list out all of the testing facilities within each state, with their capacity. It was a roadmap to having enough testing. And, even when that was done, many governors still weren't able to figure it out.

Illinois has one county that's doing pretty bad and it's getting worse. It shouldn't be taken as a given that the governor is capable of evaluating the situation, projecting forward, and comparing that to capacity.

Frankly, the analysis being performed is probably as simple as "our cases are going up overall".

This is the cost of choosing to elect people for reasons other than being the most competent. The country would be smart to significantly shift our voting habits towards successful businessmen who simply know how to navigate obstacles and get things done.

Why does the entire state need to suffer for Chicago?

If you believe the antibody tests, this makes no sense and does not help anything (assuming no stress to the health care system). The "cases" are going to fire up in June just like they would if they opened now. IL is just stretching out the pandemic and arguably doing more harm.

Same reasons all of LA bends to the will of whatever nonsense is going on in NOLA.

This is fricking stupid. IL is a huge state - don't penalize everyone because one area is still seeing an increase in cases - primarily from two big nursing homes.

I’m just not sure what the goal is anymore in IL. They haven’t come close to overrunning hospitals and just converted the biggest convention center in the country to a major corona hospital and are not even using it.
