IHOP is one of those restaurants you end up at maybe once every 5 years.....and it's going to stay that way at best.

Once a year they have a free short stack day at IHOP. I've only particiapted once and once only, back in college I went to an IHOP in Athens and the place was packed out. Me and my buddy placed our order and got a drink. Like 15 minutes go by and the waitress comes back and says "what was your order again?" So we tell her and it's about another 20 minutes before we even see her again. We're fed up at this point and my buddy was just going to pay for the drinks but only had a $20, so asked if she had change. She said only teh manager was allowed to make change. So we got up and left. That is the only time in my entire life I've walked out of somewhere without paying for service.

Last time I was in one was at least 13 years ago. My Daughter was a baby. It was around Mardi Gras. A fight broke out between two servers, and another server tried to break it up and got pepper sprayed by one of the ones fighting. Then she got in on it. Cops were called. The place got completely silent everyone was a little in shock. Then some guy starts singing It's Mardi Gras time, and everyone started cracking up. After that my son always called the place International House of Pepper Spray Fights.

This is 100% true. And I love their pancakes but everything else is meh.

Just like you never eat at Waffle House unless it’s 3am and you’re drunk or headed to deer camp
