it happens every time

And the ones that claim that even people a little above normal BMIs would look like they have AIDS are

I know I'm more of a small guy averagely but that is only because most others don't know how to control their eating and aren't active... I'm 73" and about 168 but have a pretty low body fat percentage. I'd hate to just guess but looking at pics posted by 777 I'd say it's below the 15% mark

Pizza and i got up to 232. 5 10. Long commute. Little exercise. Sitting at desk. Got into a weight loss contest at work. Epic jerk that i am, that worked.

Same here..

Started late December with the bet between me and a coworker. He and I are doing a golf trip again to Mount Mitchell Golf Club and the loser will have to pay for everything. Adds a little motivation...

Lost almost 30lbs so far and putting back on some muskuls.

People have subconscious programming going on all the time.

BMI is not a very good way to measure if someone is overweight or not. I'm 5'11, and my low average range is 133. I'd be dead at that weight

I would have to say my parents not knowing a damn thing about nutrition

Wife was watching "600 Pound Life" last night. I was reading the poli-board.

So they show a typical meal of this guy in Hull, TX, served by his parents:
- meatloaf (covered in sugary ketchup)
- mashed potatoes (thankfully, no gravy but probably extra butter)
- mac & cheese
- canned corn (probably w/ butter)

WHOA!!!! And I think this may be more typical (regionally) than you would think, or some variance of it. And to think, somewhere in the meal preparer's head, they thought "let's add a vegetable" and they settled on CORN!! Thinking they had made a wise, healthier choice.

Note: dude eventually did really well, and is probably going to make it at a healthy weight

According to BMI I'm obese. I'm 6'1", 240. I exercise daily and run 12-15 miles a week. I'm a big boy, no doubt, but certainly not obese. Everyone doesn't fit into these charts the same.

I am 6' even and weigh 177 pounds and am starting to look too thin. 185-190 is a good weight for me and anyone that is 6' and has any sort of muscle mass.

IF it's a true 19% then there is nothing wrong with that at all. The pictures I posted are pretty accurate btw. Last year when I was 16% according to a dexa scan I looked pretty much like the 15% picture and right now I am at 13.5 and am between the 10-12 and 15 picture.

My mother used to fry hamburgers in a skillet then when she was done would fry the hamburger buns in the leftover grease.
