A band named Alabama proclaiming to be experts on the Texas Music scene.

The lyrics say that the crowd in Houston is telling the band that they need a fiddle if they want to play in Texas.

thing is I heard about the barrooms across the Georgia line

Fixed.

And I assume they were talking about Trenton/Dade County considering that's a straight shot down Lookout Mountain from Ft.Payne

That’s my hometown baws!!

Was about half an hour from Ft.Payne over Memorial Day at Cloudland Canyon State Park on the Georgia side. Stayed in Fort Oglethorpe.

The NW corner of GA/NE Alabama is beautiful. My wife and I were talking when we were driving alongside Lookout Mountain that we can see ourselves living up there when we are older. We love the mountains.

Jeff Cook sawing a fiddle with a straight up baw beer gut is how I picture most OTers in my head.

Jeff had a stroke and can't play anymore.

I know a few years ago they announced he has Parkinson's and wasn't going to tour anymore because he never knew when his motor skills would keep him from playing. Had not heard he had a stroke too. That sucks.

Most random celeb sighting I ever had was seeing Randy Owen putting gas in a VW Bug at a gas station in Chilton County Alabama in 1999/2000.

I worked with an older guy who was kin to him, his last name was Owen. I never even thought about the connection until he mentioned Randy when we were talking one day. He told that yeah they get together every now and then.

Anyway, I was out running around with the guy trying to chase down some old truck he was looking to buy. We were in the general Fort Payne area and he says, "Let's go see Randy!".

Sure enough, he pulled up to the gate and Randy was on his way out. Randy opened the gate and we pulled in. We stood around in the drive area just shooting the shite for over an hour. He was just a regular dude.

I know, I know......CSB.
